Shappel Corby's trial is in all the newspapers in Melbourne, that she may get the death penalty; still ther are 9 arrested in Bali trying to get nearly 10kg of heroin out to Australia.
What is there not to understand? Why take the chance?

I'm not exactly sure what happened. Regardless, I am totally against the death penalty in all cases except for the very rare case in which the death penalty is the absolute only way to protect society from a violent criminal.

We have a democracy, with the head of state the queen of England, represented in Australia by the Govener General, appointed by the Prime Minister.
You may've even heard of our Prime Minister in America: John Howard.

Ah...I see. They don't coddle criminals in Bali do they? I suppose if all countries had such laws we would see less crime. Don't know that I could support it however.
