The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. I went through that about 2 months ago and during that time, I felt like I couldn't even pray because I thought God would not hear me, nor could he be reached-by me. it lasted off and on for about 8 days and I would sob to my mom on the phone two or three x daily. I had to just let it run its course. then bam....it was over. I'm not on meds for bipolar yet, having just been diagnosed about 2 months ago, but I am going to the doc in ohio when i move back this month. I have been seeing him for 2 to 3 years for a.d.d and insomnia but now i have to talk to him about bipolar. my med. doctor said she knows bipolar in people and she was "sure" it was my problem. hard to digest since society labels it taboo to have a mental problem. what a sad society we live in. just know, we really know how you are feeling and we love you and I am starting a prayer list shortly for all of us and your name will certainly be on it!
