Can't get enough ice!

What kinds of things do you find you desire more since you've been pregnant? One thing that I just want is shaved ice! Not ice water, don't want water in it... just love the texture and the taste of saved ice! Unfortunately my ice maker will crush the ice, but it's just not fine enough... sometimes at the very top of the pile of ice there'll be little shavings of ice and I try to lick it all up Wishing my icemaker shaved the ice.. but the crushed ice just has to do. Sometimes when I open a freezer at work and the scent of the frost on top of the freezer hits me I just want to eat it all... all that caked on frost.

Is that strange? Anyone else want to share?

I used to crave ice too!!! I loved having a glass just full of ice... no water, just ice!!!
Also I craved eucalyptus lollies at the end of my pregnancy. Well actually I craved the smell of eucalyptus oil... I had some in the bathroom and would have to go and smell it like 20 times per day!!! So the lollies were a way of satisfying that craving without having to smell the oil! Very good for when I was out. It would've looked VERY sus if i was comstantly smelling a little bottle!!!

be careful, cravings for ice could indicate an iron deficiency, however that being said, ice is awesome!

ice is a very comon craving. everyone i know has craved ice. i love my ice lollys..... yummy...

Really? I wondered about that... because I also tend to crave dirt, rocks, gravel, cement... and the only thing that tends to curve that craving is ICE!

I was iron deficient in my 2cd and had those cravings... I had those cravings with my 3rd but didn't have iron deficiency... and had started having those cravings AGAIN within the last month or two of this pregnancy.. haven't been tested for iron deficiency lately... but the cravings aren't as bad.

I wondered if there was something about ice that had to do with the mineral I was possibly missing.

Mmmmmmm, just got to thinking about ice again

Yeah that sounds like an iron deficiency to me. I'd see about having your blood drawn to confirm. You may need to start iron supplements.
