Can't figure this out

I've been in a trial for 2 1/2 years now and the one weird thing I often experience is feelings of disconnection, maybe disassociation, from life. It seems I get so distracted by circumstances from the path I try to stay on that when I get back to something remotely "normal" it feels like I have been away for a very long time. It's a "where did I go and where have I been" sort of feeling - like I have been away from my life for a long time - though it is never more than a few days or maybe a week that I got distracted, and I feel like I have to "plug into" my life all over again.

Sorry if this seems rambling, it's just hard to explain. Does anyone else ever experience this? It's just too strange.

When you say "trial", do you mean you have been in a period of personal challenge or crisis or do you mean you have been part of a court trial? Either way, if you are not living your normal, preferred life due to external factors, then it makes perfect sense to me that you feel disconnected... because you are.

Disconected from things or the world, yes i know this feeling, a result of to much stress maybe? I don't know, but i know the feeling.

Just for clarification purposes - could it be that you are seeking to find Christ outside of your self instead of within yourself?

(I know I did that for some time and this gave me that unreal feeling about my reality all the time as well, for my life 'down here' was not the life I was living I suppose.)

Seek and you will find. maybe God wants you to search him out, idk just a idea, that's what i feel as the reason he let me feel disconnected, now that i think about it more. Maybe god is challenging you to go forward. Like i said, i don't know, just an idea. Hope it can help

I'm thinking the disconnect has a lot to do with the trial. It's when my life jumps back into familiar territory that I get that "Whoa, how long have I been gone" sort of feeling.

godisreal36 – stress is definitely a factor as this has been in large part a financial trial. And as far as "seeking God out" is concerned – that doesn't apply here. God is constantly on my mind and am constantly seeking Him. My dependence on God is always before me throughout every day. It's to the point of being a very rare day that anything takes me away from that.

Yes how to explain the Living word in just a few words?

Salvation has to do with the human spirit, our soul - which could also be described as the total collection of life lived as our inner being in His Existence.

The problem with our spirit is that it is shaped by the spirituality we 'heed, eat, have life in' - this could both be in spirituality which is Good or spirituality which is Bad - more - we can take on Bad spirituality which kills our Good Spirituality turns us into Bad people.

Faith in Jesus is effectual on this level of our existence first and foremost. For Christ's Good Spirituality - the Holy Spirit -through The Word and in Love - shapes our spirit anew - where what has become bad spirituality in us, because of our own deeds or the deeds of others - is changed to newness of life because of Him, through Him and in Him.

So what I was trying to say about your disassociations - one of the tricks of The wicked is to take us away from our own spirituality/reality/truth down here - making us battle with 'phantoms' outside of ourselves.

Where we often focus on outside forces for salvation - and don't await The King to arrive within. This way faith, love and hope in Jesus work through the Holy Spirit - is deactivated as we battle outside of ourselves - without making much headway usually, I found.

That is what I meant to say. Not saying you are, more asking could this be the case? I hope this makes more sense now.

Sister i may not Have the right answers but i share your frustration. Im not sure but i thing God always asks us to evolve in some way maybe, that's all i was saying. You may be a better christian than i am, as a matter of fact i would bet that you are. But, God uses our problems at least sometimes if not always to help us move forward in some way. We always move forward. What this means, not sure, if it applies not sure. But one thing i am sure of is that all things work for the good of them that love God. I really live by this, if i didn't i would be insane from all the misery. Jesus fills my heart with love which makes less room for misery. I praise jesus for that. I know the feeling of being disconected but have no answers aside from this. Sorry i couldn't help. Who know's what today or tomorrow may bring.

Dear Janet842. We are to follow Jesus, and until we know what special something Jesus wants from us, we just follow Him in what we know. Jesus told a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all they soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like unto it: love thy neighbour as thyself." Jesus points out: " on these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Jesus wants our love, for God with all our being, because God is Worthy, and He made us in His image. We alone in this Universe, can think and reason, we know what God approves of and also what God does NOT approve of. How can we become more loving? loving God and loving each other? We know that Jesus died, and we can live to become as God wants us to be. A very good way is to show our love, ( selfless and beneficial) to God and our neighbour. How? What better way to do so than start by treating all we know, and all we meet, by treating them as we would like to be treated: with kindness, goodness, a helping hand where needed, a friendly smile rather than simply ignoring and looking the other way. People will notice and most will try and do the same. Love is catching, Janet, and will overcome anger and unfriendliness. God will see, and God will approve and give us His blessings. Jesus will help by giving us His Love and Joy to share with each other, and the Holy Spirit will empower us with His Love. " Ask and ye will receive," is a promise from Jesus. And, although we may often stumble, God will forgive us, as we forgive those who sin against us, we stumble and get up again, and carry on. We should share in others misery with them. And be happy with them when they are happy. It says something like that in the bible somewhere. I need to read the bible again, i do a lttle but more can help me in times of confussion i think. The bible and someone to share your pain with, very important i think. We do share your pain sister.
