A watchdog group crowned Candace Owens as the 2024 "Antisemite of the Year," highlighting the political pundit's remarks about the Holocaust, Israel and the Jewish community.

StopAntisemitism, a grassroots organization that exposes groups or individuals who they say spread hatred of the Jewish people and Israel, holds an annual poll to determine who gets the "distinct dishonor" of "Antisemite of the Year."

This week, the group announced on social media that Owens won the award via a poll with over 30,000 votes. Other contenders for the award included environmental activist Greta Thunberg and Twitch streamer Hasan Piker.

Exactly what did Candace Owens say to achieve the "award"?
According to copilot:

Key Statements:

  1. Holocaust Remarks: Owens referred to reports of Nazi medical experiments on Jews as "bizarre propaganda".
  2. Israel Criticism: She accused Israel of genocide and enforcing "Jim Crow" policies.
  3. Comparisons to Hitler: She likened pro-Israel organizations to Black Lives Matter, suggesting they use accusations of antisemitism to gain power.
Owens responded to the award by ironically celebrating it and criticizing pro-Israel organizations for allegedly misusing the term antisemitism.

Sounds like she’s maybe misinformed?

It looks like she went to far beyond good taste. They issues is open for discussion.

The phrase "two Jews, three opinions" is a humorous and commonly used saying in Jewish culture, highlighting the diversity of thought and the tendency for lively debate among Jewish people. It emphasizes the value placed on discussion, disagreement, and the exploration of multiple perspectives.

In the book "The Chosen" by Chaim Potok touchs on themes related to Zionism and the establishment of the State of Israel. The novel is set in the 1940s and explores the lives of two Jewish boys, Reuven Malter and Danny Saunders, in Brooklyn, New York. Their friendship develops against the backdrop of significant historical events, including the Holocaust and the founding of Israel.

The characters' fathers have differing views on Zionism, which influences their sons' perspectives and experiences. Reuven's father, David Malter, is a Zionist and supports the establishment of a Jewish state, while Danny's father, Rabbi Isaac Saunders, is more traditional and skeptical of Zionism.

I never understood why we have the freedom of speech to criticize every nation on the planet without any consequences but one - the State of Israel.

This is totally unbiblical because God has allowed prophets to rebuke Israel whenever it did evil. Israel is infamous for murdering its own prophets according to the Bible itself.

Even Jesus would be considered an anti-Semite for his harsh rebukes, criticism of Jewish Orthodoxy (formerly Pharisee) and Jews in general.

Candice Owens is nowhere near deserving of the award. She has some contradictory and confusing positions but she doesn't outright deny terrorism. I think theres sometimes a grain of truth to what she says but she over inflates it.

But there are plenty of other better candidates like most of the students who protested against the Jews and actually made their life hell. They actually proclaimed genocide with the chant 'from the river to the sea' and some actually called for Jewish deaths.

Or what about the University heads like Claudine Gaye who were actively promoting antisemetism and teaching it. Or the UN whose own employees were allowed to promote antisemetism and help Hamas as well as protect and support the worlds most antisemetic nations against Isreal by being silent on their own human rights violations against Jews.

Greta is more deserving. She has managed to link climate change with antisemetism. Also political representative Ilhan Omar. This is almost government snactioned antisemetism and she gets away with it.

Very well said.
