  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What should I do if I suspect a cancer cluster?
Concerns about cancer clusters most often come up in schools, workplaces, and in certain areas of a community. If you are concerned about a possible cancer cluster, contact your local or state health department. If you don’t know who to call in your area, the CDC has a list of web links to local and state contacts at .cdc.gov/nceh/clusters/statelocal.htm. (Also see the Additional resources section.)

Some of your concerns might be relieved during the initial phone call. If not, the health department will probably look into doing a brief investigation and then, if needed, will do a more complete review of the situation. For more complex or urgent situations, the health department might also call in experts from the CDC or other federal agencies to help do a more in-depth investigation.

The investigators might be able to figure out with a fair amount of certainty that there is no true cluster, or that there is a true cluster and it’s probably caused by a certain exposure. But in many cases, even when it seems there is a cluster, a single cause can’t be found.

Suspected cancer clusters can be very distressing for those affected by them. Some people might be comforted if an investigation finds no clear cause for a cluster, but others might find it worrisome or frustrating. Even though thorough investigations of potential cancer clusters often don’t give clear-cut answers, it’s important that communities keep reporting suspected cancer clusters, and that health organizations respond to these concerns.

cancer happens when your immune system finally can't stand and fight the toxins caused in your body and is overcomed by it.
People looking for magicall pill to cure cancer will never find it , the only cure is not poisoning themselves but people got too used to stuff and food that cause cancer that they don't want to hear about it.

Thats just the poison we eat , other way to disturb your body is long exposure to radiation like wifi towers and such.

But ye mostly its from food , going as close to 1 in 4 die from cancer soon. Meanwhile in Japan they don't have as much cancer as US , somehwat up to 60% lower than US just we need to find what they do and do the similar but nope people are too used to thier lifestyles nowdays.

Health department epidemiologists would be the best source. jacks' answer is good.

Some research you could potentially do on your own. Is there a history of the use of the land near you? A chemical plant that no longer operates, but that may have contaminated soil and water? Your water utility probably provides you with testing data about the level of contaminants in the drinking water. Or you could do your own tests of water, soil and air with a third party environmental testing lab for a fee.

That's enough I'd check on various official sites like the state epidemiologist or environmental agency or something like that. Ah, I see above an answer from Jacks with a good place to go for links! So, just to affirm that: it's a good place to check, and look for more than just one if possible. Also, it may be possible to report the cluster, and if so that's good to do.

There are about a thousand variables in your question, such as:

  • How long have these people lived i the neighborhood
  • Types of cancer
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Occupation
  • Ethnicity
  • Genetics
Are you suspecting something in the soil? Lets say each house has two people. That's 2 out of 80 (5%) that died of cancer last year.
