Oo, a Canada thread, yay! At the moment it is [it's shocking, I know] snowing....lots. Spring was when, back in March? And it's snowing. That's Manitoba for you...

While they've got the President's Trophy all but locked up (all they need is a tie in their next game and they've got it for sure), I've suffered too much post-season disappointment in the past to make any predications about the playoffs.
I expect them to make it to the second round, but I'm not holding out for much more than that.

My family and I are Canadians who have lived in the US for the last six years; two in Louisville, KY and four in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The wife and I are from the Halifax area but the kids were born in Calgary and I consider that 'home' in Canada.
I found it funny that 'smarties' was one of the first things mentioned at the beginning of this thread. There are smarties in the US - they are what we call 'rockets' in Canada, and they are made in Canada.
There is no plum sauce in the US, or decent tea. We get both send down by care packages from relatives. They also send us down chocolate bars and candy. Coffee Crisps, Crunchies, anything by Cadbury.
And it amazes me how recipes for the same product change from Canada to the US. I lived on shreddies and special K in Canada. What they sell here in the US is not the same thing, they suck. And why does all the 'average' white bread in the US turn to mush after it is toasted and then buttered? Don't Americans like a little crunch with their toast?
A friend of the wifes and her husband came to visit a year ago and he ended every sentence with 'eh.' I had always considered that to be an exaggeration of the US media but after listening to him I can see where people get that stereotype.
Looks like we will be headed to NS this summer for a vacation - all of our relatives are there. Will be the fist time in about four and half years I'll have been in Canada. Wonder if I will get down and kiss the ground like I did last time?![]()

AquariusWolf said:Please excuse the wannabe Canadian! Is coffee crisp the same as coffee cake? And don't you miss Aero bars and Big Turks? Yummy..
StromRider said:Wannabe?!?! A quick look at my profile would have shown you I am a Canadian who currently lives in the US. Coffe crisp is a bar, coffee cake is cake - except for the Tim Horton muffins which are great.
I do miss aero bars but not big turks - don't even remember them.
Yeah Aquarius was referring to himself... oh that's ok... you can't take anything for face value on the computer! It's so easy to mix things up!StromRider said:Wannabe?!?!
