Can you'll Help?

Will you'll help me become a more spiritual person? How? I don't know. Scripture, get me involved, ask me questions, get me to look some stuff up from the Bible. I am trying, bumping my study up, but I want to put more time in and I really don't know how. I just have to get in the Bible I know but what to look for I pray and I still don't know!!!! I like to help people but I have to help myself first. God has a special purpose in everyone's life, and not only am I working out what that is but I am also trying to get closer to Him and maybe this is how!!!! It could also be good for you'll so what do I do first!!!

Something you could start with is a daily early morning prayer time/study. Keep a diary of prayers, thoughts/feeelings and what scriptures studied that day. When looking through it at a later date you'll see how GOd has lead you and answered prayer etc etc. Let us know how it goes.

That would be a good idea. People have told me that before but I kind of sleep in the morning, get ready sleep, eat and then sleep some more until school. It is hard to concentrate in the morning but I want to and I should try a little harder to do that in the morning. Thanks you'll. I will try!!!

It is very good to have a morning prayer time. It is also good to pray with other sisters during the week either in person or on the phone.

Hello Lily!

Maybe morning isn't the best time for you to read the Bible because you are too tired. Why not try reading a little when you can consentrate more?

I think you should start with the Gospels. The Gospel of John. The Message Bible an easy read. That's what this translation is called, "The Message Bible." You can get it at any Christian bookstore.

I believe Jesus would have you keep things simple. We tend to complicate things much to much when He wants you to approach Him like a trusting child. If in the morning you were to wake up and simply thank Him for all the gifts He has given you that would start you day off thainking about Him. Cool!

And later on in the day when you do read the Bible, ask Him to cause the scriptures to come alive. They will, especially when you start reading the story of His life.

Above all, the Lord loves you very, very much.

He Himself said, "Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened."

Hmmm. This is going to be hard.

It is difficult to get up in the morning and devote your time to the Lord. Satan will fight against you doing it. But it is very worth it. You will enjoy the Lord much more. I am praying that the Lord will be your strength to overcome and to rise up early and praise Him and pray to Him and read His word and enjoy Christ!

I do a study everyday, but it is only 15 minutes. I have been trying to get it up to an hour at least. I feel like I put everything before God and that is a sin. Even CF. That is why I want to learn and apply God when I talk in CF so then I will be praising God and interacting. How do I do that though?

In the morning, 15 minutes may be enough time if that is all the time you have. But, you still should spend more time with the Lord during the day. Read your Bible - set a daily reading schedule. Read ministry books as well. Get a prayer partner - a sister who you can call on the phone and pray with for at least 10 minutes a day.
If you do not enjoy the riches of God, you will not have any riches to share - here on CF or anywhere else. Take your Bible with you and read it wherever you can. I keep one in my car and read it when I am waiting in the line to pick up my kids from school. Redeem the time. There is a lot of time that you can spend reading the Bible and praying. Listen to hymn CDs in the car when you go places or CDs of the Bible or ministry. Pray when you are on the computer, walking to class, doing whatever things you do during the day. Enjoy the Lord!

But also make it the best to memorize a verse or two in the Bible!

All of this advice sounds wonderful and I would add this; this place, CF, has brought me some wonderful blessings especially in the edification section. Be careful though, I think many of us may spend a little bit too much time on the ole web. Also, remember that spirituality and Bible knowledge are two different things. I'm currently in seminary and there are alot of people that know the Bible up and down but have no personal relationship with Christ. It sounds like you're on the right track though (like I'm an expert). Praise God and Godspeed with your walk.

Just want to encourage u to be faithful continue to study God's word, even 15mins. I am striving to do that too. Sometimes we think 15mins is nothing, but I believe God honors that 15mins and He can speak to you through the 15mins of reading. We may start small, but God can multiply that little.
I pray that God will open your eyes to see wonderful things in His Word and cause your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ to increase that you will love Him more. I pray that God will grant you the desires of your heart as you seek after Him. :Amen:
