• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
 • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The word worship in the greek is the word:

PROSKUNEO (4352) - to worship, to kiss (like a dog licking its master's hand),
to prostrate oneself in homage. John 4v23 and Revelation 7v11

Other words found in the bible for worshiper are:

SCHACAH (7812) - to worship and to bow down. Genesis 22v5 Exodus 34v8

BARAK (1288) - to kneel and to bless. 1 Chronicles 29v20 Nehemiah 8v6

HALLAL (1984) - praise and celebration (from which hallelujah is derived). 1 Chronicles 16v4 Ezra 3v11

These word are actually movements.
So yes dance and worship go hand in hand.

I am not a dancer, so to me it doesn't present much of a form of worship for me. I think if I had to dance I would be to distracted by what I was doing to really get intimate with God.

In saying that however I do feel that many people can make it a true act of worship to God, just like some people sing as an act of worship. All to often people assume that to worship God is to Sing songs. It is up to the individual to find what he feels comfortable with to move into the presence of God and concentrate solely on the Lord.

And finally I think we shouldn't limit ourselves to how we feel we should worship. We should let the Holy Spirit guide us in our worship and do what he wishes to do. So for me that would be letting the Holy Spirit have the option of using me in dance to worship the Lord if that is what the Holy Spirit wants.

yes deafently dancing as worship is just the same as singing or playing an instument for him. i always dance 4 him its what i can and like doing. Read this Ecclesiastes 3:4 there is a time for everything "a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to DANCE", Psalm 30:11 "you turned my wailing into dancing", Psalm 149:3 "Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp". hoped this help ^_^

I believe dancing is an incredible way to worship, though of course there is an appropriate time for everything. When the service is incredibly exciting and God is really moving, dancing for joy can be a beautiful expression of His joy in you. But there are times to stand quitely before the Lord and either just enjoy his presence or let him deal with you without any distractions.

This is not to say that dancing is only worship when done in church. When done with the right mindset, the dancing I do every day can be an outpouring of His goodness in my life.

I do choreography for a dancing team that performs on Youth group nights. I believe people can worship in dance, as long as the dancers hearts are bent on glorifying the Lord, and not themselves. God needs to be the center for any worship: be dance, song, meditation, or others. All of these things can also be turned into worldly things. So dance is an effective way to show adoration to God, you just have to be careful about how you bring it into your church. Some people dont like accepting it because its not traditional.
