I wouldn't recommend it. Use oven cleaner or the oven's self clean function.

Well, I used the Easy Off stuff first and got a good amount out. But there's some tough baked on stuff in there - and not sure what to do...lol

Make a paste with baking soda and hot water and then let it sit for like an hour then scrub it with a sponge that has a scrubby on it. Oven cleaner is highly toxic; don't breathe that stuff in or use it where your food will go. I know , I know, people will say it's safe, but it smells gross and just the thought of it near food makes me gag.

Would longer be better? Like say I put the paste in tonight before I go to sleep (because it's getting late) - and then cleaned it out tomorrow after work? That is like 16 hours though. lol

It can, just make sure it's moist enough to not dry out and it should help get the gunk off tomorrow with little effort. Or you can spritz vinegar on the baking soda paste tomorrow and it will help it come up too. It's not going to hurt it to be left on longer. Wipe it all down with hot water and a little dishsoap.

Go to you local Dollar General and buy a $1.00 bottle of AWESOME! (it really is), spray it on leave it for about 15 min. then scrub off depending on how baked on the gunk actually is, you might need a Brillo Pad, or just a pad of steel wool.

I swear by it and have used it for about 5 years.

What have you got to lose, it's only a buck.

She usually does - lol - but most of the time it gets dirty because I cook chicken in there uncovered and it splatters...and this time she revolted. hahaha

Have your wife cook the chicken...another problem solved.

It seems maybe the kitchen isn't where your true talents lie? I know my wife barely trusts me to wash dishes, though I can cook a mean piece of toast.
