Kingdom Hearts - REALLY fun action/RPG by Squaresoft. Has Disney and Final Fantasy characters in it, but you don't have to know much about either to enjoy it. Your character plays alongside Donald and Goofy and you go to the different Disney worlds. There's Wonderland, Mount Olympus, Halloween Town, Atlantica, the Deep Jungle of Tarzan... They did a great job putting film to game in Kingdom Hearts. Especially with Halloween Town. The gameplay is solid and it's an action game that I really recommend. The only problem with it is the camera can get a bit squirrely at times, but it doesn't happen all THAT often.
Jak and Daxter - An action/platformer. It's a pretty good game, but can be frustrating at times in some areas. However, practice usually makes perfect. It's a collect-fest though so if you don't like games where you have to go around finding and collecting little items, pass it by.
Dark Cloud - An action/RPG game in the vein of Nintendo's Legend of Zelda (actually some say it's a blatant rip-off, at least with regards to the main character Toan looking like Link) It's a game where you go around dungeons and pick up items and kill enemies for experience to be able to customise your weapon to stronger forms. You find in the dungeons peices of 'atla' which are bits of whole villages and towns that have been sealed away. Then you arrange these peices where you see fit... or more aptly where their owners see fit if you want to get 100 % and the special weapons that go with it.

. Dark Cloud is one of those games that people either love or hate, mostly because of the dungeon crawling, and the fact that for the most part all the dungeons of a particular level look alike except for their randomised layouts (Each time you enter, it's a different shape, but the enemies are the same), as well as the Thirst meter, and the fact if you let a weapon break, it's gone for good. Even if you spent hours getting it to its top form >_<.
Dark Cloud 2 - This game improves on it's predecessor in several ways. Namely, getting rid of the thirst meter and the problem with weapons breaking for good. As long as you have a repair powder, you can restore your weapon and make it good as new. The graphics are also improved, taking on a cel-shaded appearance. Most notably is the depth the game goes into the characters. It's far increased from the first one. The game's voice acting (what the first game lacked altogether) is pretty good to great, and the characters are interesting. The weapons are built up more or less the same way as the original, and the dungeons also look the same, however they're more elaborately constructed, making them seem not as ho-hum. It's an overall improvement over the first game IMO. The town-building aspect is still there, but it's a bit more involving than the first game as it involves changing the past to suit the future. In order to get 100% you have to make all the changes necessary.
Hope those suit your fancy.
