CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I recently finished Landmines in the Path of the Believer by Charles Stanley. It is a simple guide at common traps we fall into and the Christian method of avoiding them. I've learned (the hard way) that God's path is the best path, and when we stray from it we are hurt; when we stay on it life improves in many facets.

There is a book coming out at the end of summer that is supposed to be very inspirational. It is a faith-based true crime book by Debbie Wilson. I read part of it on authonomy.com. I think you can buy it on Amazon.com or kindle.

I think you would connect with a book I just wrote about my medical career in Virginia, entitled "The High Calling". It's a down to earth real life story of suffering and healing, faith lost and regained. I share some hilarious experiences and some tragic, but always how God invisibly moved in my life.
