Exactly. Besides, if God judges us based on our actions and our actions form our soul, then that must mean that souls last longer than the body.

The quick answer is "No" you can not kill your soul. It doesnt belong to you.

How does my soul not belong to me when invariably I have the decision of where it goes and how it is stained or cleaned.

Well, everyone here doesn't believe the same thing. There is no scientifically proven, complete conclusion on what a soul is, which is why the question comes up.

While the Creator of the Universe essentially owns everything in it, and some individuals willingly give their lives over to God, I don't think we disconnect to the point of losing the essence of who we are. God doesn't take back what He as given us; usually when we yield to Him, we gain.

In a situation like yielding our souls to Him, we don't lose control, or lose freedom of expression, or lose an object that IS what we are. People tend to say "all I have is His," or "we have no control over our lives" in a spiritual sense of humility and recognition that there are forces larger than ourselves.

It is my understanding however, that peoplecan see their souls to Lucifer for worldly goods.

'Selling your soul' is a poetic way of describing someone who puts material values before spiritual ones. But it does not mean that they have actually sold anything to anyone.

God retains ownership of every human soul, for all time. He created us, and he abdicates us to no-one, least of all satan/lucifer.
