Can you be a christian without church?

Yes we need to be apart of Christian Community Christians were never meant to be isolated. When isolated from others we become an open target for the enemy of our souls

I didn't go to church for a While but It's much easier to follow Him when you're in fellowship with believers and have someone that can disciple you and pray for you. I noticed I
prayed less and became lukewarm. He gave apostels etc. to the Body to equip us for the work of the ministry.

Paladin Valer is right, my friend. Of course, having a personal relationship with Christ is critically important, but there's no reason to think having one cancels out everything else that the Bible teaches us to do and which is for our own benefit.

If, for some reason, you can't function as the church's most active member, meeting and greeting and participating in every potluck dinner and Bible Study group, you'll find some sympathy from Christians. But to cut yourself off from the church completely is not going to find support from informed Christians of any denomination.

I used to go to church and be a part of everything possible. I loved it and was so happy. Then I found out a couple pastors had been talking about me behind my back. I was so hurt. I totally changed my whole outlook on Christian leaders and no longer go to church and haven't for years! I feel very bad about this and have tried different churches but I can't get into it anymore.

I personally feel my walk it totally hindered by this and would love to be involved in a church.

Yes you can be a Christian without going to church but I personally feel that you're better off going to and belonging to a church!

I am sorry that you had to experience this. Some people believe they have been called for leadership and God has done nothing of that sort. Marsha I am going to pray and ask God to give you a church family. I am also going to ask him that he gives you an open heart to love those who you run into.

It is important for Christians to be part of the local Church. However, not going to Church will not make you less Christians than righteous Christain who goes to Church.

Currently I'm not attending church because I'm still looking for my home church.

I went to local campus of a mega church and did not grow over 7 years but then found a small church and grew a lot in 7 weeks. At present, I'm not attending due to circumstances but I'm going online refreshinghope dot org

Yes, your going to always find a reason not to go to church. When you go you need to now your purpose and why you are there. I go there to serve. I use to go thinking, oh I will find my home church where it will be all happy joy. You get hurt going in thinking this way. There are also alot of hurt people in churches. I have personally learned that the holy sprit is here to help me grow and learn. I am here so God can use me to help others be free of their sin.

With God all things are possible, so questions like this, ultimately fail in their intent. But in the normative sense derived from the scriptures, the Fathers, the Bishops, Saints, and Doctors of the Church, no. It is not the ordinary or normative case that a Christian be separated from Church.

You'll be surprise why Adam right to Noah lived for that long without a doctor. Well I can't prove it if they did or neither can anyone disproved it? Maybe some of you disregard or overlooked it. However, I was praying for healing on my body and it came to a surprise what I received. I started with genesis and was questioning how Adam and Noah lived for that long? It wasn't until I read up the Water Canopy theory of the earth's original atmospheric pressure during Adam and Noah. It was supposedly a much heavier oxygen pressure before the global flood. Notice how there are hyperbolic oxygen therapy, and portable ones too for a quicker healing? Makes sense to me. I wouldn't doubt that the Lord also use a miracle to heal you. Am I against doctors? Of course Not. I had surgery a while back so it can't without them. It is something to think about. The pharmaceutical business is probably a trillion dollar business and the world is probably conned into it? True or false?

Anyway, I was invited to a fellowship at a friends, friend's house. They told me they don't go to church but they meet up on a monthly basis. I thought it was odd because I was use to church but the fellowship was awesome. What if GOD is using people in a different way without a hall or church building? I believe eople should be led first under a congregation before they can become leaders of their own and host their own fellowship before disconnecting with the church. Maybe it is equipping in the church first before branching out? There are some interesting comments here, very inspiring. It seem like a grey area to me.

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

I know the bible place in all our hearts to Build GOD's Kingdom/House or reach out to the lost and then GOD will build your house?

Did GOD mean a heavenly house or a natural house on earth or both? ATM, I am still single (over 30yrs) and not married. Hmm maybe I am not praying or obedience hard enough

All you need is two people or more to create a church. You do not need to go to some denominational institution or building outside of home to attend church.

The thing about not going to church is, under what form and how would one go about eating the body and drinking the blood of the Savior, so as to be granted eternal life and full communion with Him? (John 6:53 - 58) (Lk.22:19-20) (1Cor 11:23-34) (Mt. 26:26-28) (Mark 14:22-24)
Who would consecrate, and make it happen? How would it be distributed and shared with other Christian brothers and sisters woven into the tapestry of the mystical body of Christ, and as "ecclesia"? I mean, I'm all for it, I guess. I like football as much as the next guy. But I honestly just don't know how many, deeply important aspects of Christian life would be accomplished. Not trying to be obtuse. I genuinely don't get it. I know others who hold this view as well. I just scratch my head. I guess, count me for a vote towards, no. You can not be a Christian without assembling with other Christians on the Lord's Day, unless prevented from doing so by severe illness, injury, disability, lost in the mountains, being held hostage, or some such thing like that. A valid reason known between you and our blessed Lord.

Good points, I see that you use your brain. Maybe the problem here isn't going to church but going to the people in the church. Sure you can't break bread alone but why go to break bread if the people of the church are hypocrites.
