Can we vent here since this is among Catholics? I'm so fed up with Rapture Ready and their double standards. You offend a Protestant, you get a warning. A Protestant offends a Catholic, oh well. mark20az's latest post called a Catholic a God hating, Jesus blasphemer. It also contained profanity. I plead to the Admin and Cor replies something like the context it was in was a play on words. I should purposefully get banned from RR to make a point. Guarantee if I called someone other than a Catholic a God hater and then used profanity, I'd get a warning or two. I'm pulling hair out of my head!!!!!!!!!!! This is just wrong, wrong, wrong.

I share in your frustration however, getting yourself banned will do only one thing (on this or any other board which is opposed to Catholicism)... and that is set you as an example of the "typical Catholic" who cannot defend their faith (since it is of course unbiblical ) and has to resort to childish attitudes to obfuscate the topics.

You need to grin and bear it, you need to accept it, turn the other cheek (no matter how badly brusied, torn, or bloody it is) and continue to preach Christ crucified (1 Cor 1:23). Ignore those who persecute you (and us) and post vehemence. They'll do a good enough job of exposing their bias, they always do, and any honest lurker in search of the truth will be able to discern that.

While I agree there are a few bad apples on that particular board, there ARE people we can share fellowship and rejoice in our adopted relationship to the Father, as brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ. For that very reason, it would be a shame to disappoint them (and us) with a blow up.

I feel your pain, Jukes! I have stopped posting a lot on that board for that very reason. I do not understand their unrelenting hatred of Catholicism. The only thing that I can think of is that perhaps Mark was molested by a priest - in which case that priest was not following the tenets of the religion he is charged with serving. That's the only thing my poor brain has been able to come up with that could explain his irrational hatred and venom.

We have to persevere in a Christ-like manner. Just know that there are others who are struggling with this, too. It helps to know!

I'm terribly sorry that you were so offended jukesk9. Such extremist name calling is not the way to participate in debate. I am a Reformer, but I don't go around slashing at every Catholic that I can find. I know that there are things that Catholics believe, about which I disagree, but I don't use that as a license for bashing. Also I would like to say that not all Protestants lack integrity; there are some of us who truly love Catholics enough not to strike them down, but rather present our beliefs humbly, with reverence, as stated in I Peter 2:16,17, NASB:

"Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all men; love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king."

I pray that God blesses you and that you do not hold the actions of some against all.

Christine actually just posted a very good response to Mark. She essentially told him to back off and take a break.

I called him on his unchristian, immature comments and his reaction was what I expected. Angry and hatefilled. I wonder what his story is? I have never in my life met (in real life or online) anyone like him.

I know it's tempting, but in the end having to beat a dead horse is just as much about our own ego as it is about defending truth.

I know, I've been there.

I can only say, don't bother with that forum. If they don't want to hear you, and they're going to be ignorant about it, don't bother. You do your part by simply being good, moral, and truthful. Beyond that, shake your sandles and go somewhere else.

I quit posting on RR because of all the hatred and venom that was being pored out by their posters. I am not Catholic, however I have been attacked several times by the "Christians" on that board because I posted my beliefs.

I suggest you follow my lead and edit all of your posts on that board and replace your text with something that says "User has moved to a loving Christian forum" etc. Do a search for my name on that board and you will see every post saying something similar.

I am not a Catholic. And, although I have a few doctrinal differences with Catholism, I respect their beliefs and realize that this particular area of the forum is reserved for Catholic Fellowship. I will discuss doctrinal differences in the Interfaith Forum, but not here. I think all non-Catholics should afford these Catholics the same respect.

I'm not catholic too but many of my friends are devoted catholics(one of whom is mt best friend) and i think catholics must be accorded the same respect and love as other brethren in Christ.
