Hey All,

I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately... Is it possible for us to live without sin?

Now the Bible states over and over again that Jesus' death frees us from sin, from all unrighteousness. Now obviously we can never claim to be sinless as we still would have the capabilities to sin since we can never be perfect till Jesus comes back... but I've been told over and over again that its impossible to live without sinning.

I also found this book online about living without sin and it also refutes the "Original Sin Doctrine",

gospeltruth.net/menbornsinners/mbsindex.htm

What do you all think?

Have you been told that by people who are trying to get you to do things you believe are wrong? I can't imagine why someone would even make that statement. It is like saying you cannot live without eating vegetables so make sure you get your daily quota. Sin is not an act; it is an attitude. Too often we confuse sin with mistakes. We make mistakes all the time. Those don't bother God. What bothers Him are the times when we don't trust Him.

Thanks for your input people, I do believe that we should definetly strive to live without sin completly but it is very hard not to doubt when others around, who are of the same faith, are voicing the complete opposite.

Thanks

This is why we must go by what the Bible says instead of taking everything that men have to say about such matters to heart.

As far as I am concerned the Bible gives us instruction on what we must avoid to be free from sin. And for the simple fact that God tells us not to do such things, this is evidence to me that God doesn't want us to sin. And if God doesn't want us to sin, and we believe that He is all powerful, what are we really saying about God's ability to give us victory over sin when we say that it isn't possible to be free of sin? What are we really saying about God's power to free us from sin?

This is where the verse comes in which says "whatever is not of faith is sin."

We either believe that God is all-powerful or we don't believe it! And if we do believe it, then we need to stop speaking in negatives and start laying hold of that power in the face of temptation!

This is a good question Brother.

Many a mind with much more wisdom than I have do not know the right answer.

John tells us not to sin. He is very clear about that. But then he says if we do sin we have advocate. So it seems that the aim is to get sin out of our lives.

That can only be done by what we call the "new birth"

Wonderful.

Indeed it is! It is wonderful that God would make Himself known to man, and that He would enable us to understand what He has to say about us!

It is wonderful that He not only tells us where we came from, but who we are , and where we're going.

It is wonderful that God is so personal! And it is wonderful that God is powerful enough to give us victory over sin!

None of these were at issue in your earlier post. I really thought you were disagreeing with me. If you were you did not detail it here.

(This post is biast!!)

Sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, SIN!

I am sorry to say this on your forum. but everywhere i go be it Christian or non i hear this word!

I doubt! highly and passionately! that sin is not possible to make while we live in a world where the Devil is given free rein.

These guys are professionals! and i would be a fool!! to doubt there intelligence and ability to tempt us. only until we are removed of all temptation we will be able to avoid sin but in a sense being free from temptation would be to board yourself in a windowless room give yourself a sleep serum so you will forever sleep. but then you will be sinning as you will have committed suicide (and many other forms of sin)

Its not avoidable! (in my eyes) Yet I find so many people concern themselves with that fact ... is this a sin ... is that a sin, should i do this if its wrong! i must be as perfect as possible or live as close to a sinful life as possible.

I find that ignorance is bliss when it comes to sin, and in my point of view God being as loving as he is does not want us to concentrate and study sin like a text book but concentrate on the 10 most basic laws so that we can be the best humans as we can be within our incredibly short time on earth.

Well that is a new way of looking at it.."Sin is a attitude"
