Acts 2:1-4 (ESV):

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 4:31 (ESV):

And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

Were there any believers present at both events?

More generally: can Christians be filled/baptized with the Holy Spirit more than once?

Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a one time event. Being filled is the same as walking in His Holy Spirit. Not to grieve or quench Him but rather let Him do His work in you and through you. Blessings.

Yes, we can be filled multiple times.

You don't lose the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but you can get a fresh filling.

Do you see any difference between the experiences in Acts 2 and Acts 4? Acts 2 was the baptism in the Holy Spirit promised by Jesus in Acts 1:8, but Acts 4 seems to have been a very similar experience, if not the same.

Why would a vessel need to be filled? 1) it has been poured out or 2) it has been upgrade to a bigger vessel and now has more capacity

Please understand me, Christians cannot get more or less Holy Spirit than they already have, however we can go through things that make us feel drained and our capacity to understand and flow in the Holy Spirit can grow. It's in those times we can be re-filled with the Holy Spirit. Again, this does not mean a person "lost" the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is simply a recognition that we can become drained and that we are designed to grow in our understanding and God is faithful to renew us.

Acts 2 is the initial filling. Acts 4 is a re-filling. (we actually see it again in Acts 13:52)

Yes. Ephesians 5:18 says be filled with the Spirit rather than get drunk. I'll drink to that. Literally, it says "be being filled", a little awkward in English, but it conveys the sense that we should seek to be filled continually. As one of my Pastor's used to say, one baptism, many fillings (of the Holy Spirit).
