Telling a man he can't use a men's restroom because you suspect he might be a woman or vice versa is discriminatory.

Ah, I see. You're failing to see how these are two entirely different things from the perspective of business law.

You're also failing to see the difference between turning a citizen away because of a trait and turning a state away because of a law. A state does not have personhood and is not protected by anti-discrimination legislation.

What Paypal is doing is the equivalent of a baker shutting down a location of his or her bakery (or every location), which is a perfectly acceptable form of protest. It is not akin to him or her turning away a single customer and remaining open.

Well, I suppose this whole thing started over who is going to use which bathroom. That's the reason Paypal gave for not doing business. So we might as well argue about it, but it wasn't the intention of the original post.

If a woman came into the bathroom and pulled her pants down I wonder if she can really object to the stares she gets? After all she's making a public display of herself.

I don't think asking, "Why are you staring? I'm a man just like you are" is going to help.

I know a lot of men who would simply reply, "I wish I knew a lot more men like you."

If you're going to do this I suggest you're ready for stupid comments but I know you don't have to use the bathroom to get them so, good luck with it.

I am appalled at anyone getting bashed for what they are, but then I have suffered this for being a Christian, and I've found nobody actually cares so I just forgive and get on with it.

The article said that they would be required to use the restroom that they biologically identify with. So if a man still has a penis then he is indeed a man and should use the men's room.

How would you know if a man (or anyone) has a penis or not?

The logical conclusion of the assertions by conservatives in these threads is that they want a penis inspector hired for every bathroom. That will solve all this fuss - and create jobs, too!

However, obviously, the penis inspection should be performed by private companies, as, not only should government not be concerned about these things but private enterprise is much more efficient.

Refusing to acknowledge that transmen are men and transwomen are women and treating them like women or men respectively is discriminatory. This person is not a woman:

...You do realize that if you are tired of getting bashed for your beliefs, you can change your beliefs, right? Also, really? A christian in the USA getting bashed for their religious affiliation? You do realize that Christians make up more than 2/3rds of the population, that every president thus far has been Christian, that congress is like 99% Christians, and you guys are given incredible religious privilege in many aspects of the law? It seems to me that this is what the other side wants us to believe....when the truth is that they are just not happy with trans people coming out and being themselves.

Yes because the left forced the GOP legislature of NC to hold a special session to pass this law just so they can then scream about it.

This law would force Sarina to go into a men's restroom because she was born a man. That's the problem. Unless you are okay with someone like Sarina who was born a man, using the ladies room?

Same situation. Buck was born a woman. Under this law, he would have no choice but to use the lady's room. You sure you're okay with that?

Common sense, I would hope, would be to let someone use the restroom without checking between their legs to be sure they're in the right place.
