Can someone explain the Law of Non-Contradiction?

Like other knowledge, logic too comes from induction. We observe and are taught logic. It is not innate. It is so fundamental, that it appears axiomatic. On the other hand, haven't we all met a few people who are just don't see things logically.

I think that is "logic" in a more colloquial sense. The laws that underpin formal logic are indeed axiomatic because their negations entail contradictions.

As Teddy said, you're speaking of logic in the colloquial sense (meaning "critical thinking" or "rigorous intellectual discipline"). "Logic" in the philosophical sense, which is the set of rules that define the relationships between true propositions, cannot be taught because unless the student already knows the rules of logic, he cannot even comprehend speech. For the same reason, it can't be derived from inductive or any other kind of evidence.
