• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

You want the blasphemous thoughts? A sense of relief or enjoyment when a blasphemous thought comes up?

I get blasphemous thoughts against the Holy Spirit and it is so weird. It started off normal but I have reached a point with this disease that it feels like I mean or enjoy the thoughts and that I don’t care. I’m scared it’s because my heart is hardening or that I lost the Holy Spirit!! What is happening!?!? I don’t want to feel that way!!! I love the Holy Spirit!

You know, God has the power and ability to remove stuff like that from us. But He doesn't. Why? Because when we are weak, then He is strong. Let's read the scriptures, 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, which says:

7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Paul received an abundance of revelation, having been taken up into the third heaven, seeing things no man had saw before. Unless he should have been "exalted above measure," which means to be lifted up or made higher than you should, he was given a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan which buffeted Paul.

Paul, after seeking its removal from the Lord three times, was told that Jesus's grace is sufficient, that His (Christ's) strength is made perfect in (Paul's) weakness.

What was Paul's response? Bemoan or complain? No. Begrudgingly accept?

Paul's response was to rejoice in his infirmities, and to take pleasure in them and all such kinds of hardship: infirmities (sicknesses,) reproaches (people's disapproval,) necessities (lack of daily needs,) persecutions, and distresses for Christ's sake. Why? Because when we're weak, then we are strong, because the power of Christ rests upon us.

So don't despair, but rejoice! For God is going to use your weaknesses to make you strong in Him.

That said, OCD is a mental illness, of which I also have: I also have schizophrenia and bipolar, and could not survive without my medication or therapy. So apart from this spiritual advice, if the problem gets too severe, treat it like you would an infection that you think is serious, and get help.

Often I find that understanding God's grace and love for me helps me with my OCD. Understanding He is not looking for reasons to throw me in hell, but understands my weaknesses and wants to be powerful in me through them, gives me a lot of relief. I hope this helps you, God bless you.

This is something that can happen with OCD. OCD tries its best to freak us out in any way that it can. So, it not only sends intrusive thoughts, but sometimes it also tries to convince us that we want the thoughts.

Are you currently receiving any help for your OCD?

Hi!, God can help, seek a church that does deliverance or some minister that can help. Seek a church where they seek the presence and power of God and believes in being filled with the Holy spirit and share your problem with them. Its the best you can do for this. Be aware some say they do miracles in Gods name but only want money avoid those. But they have nothing to do with a church where God is present.

I had intrusive thoughts that were really disturbing me, they went away thanks to God after i discovered the simple truth that it was not me but an 'entity' doing this.

I don't care if talking about this causes some surprise or whatever, God cured me of those disturbing intrusive thoughts that hammered my head and i need to tell this to others because they can be cured too.
