  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can Jesus do anything from himself ?

I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will.
John 5:30

--2 ---
Then Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, "You both know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
John 7:28

--3 ---
I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of the one who sent me.
John 6:38

I don't speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it.
John 12:49

Can Jesus do anything from his own will ? !
1. Jesus can not do anything on his own, which means all these miracles Jesus did it’s by the will and the power of God who sent him.
2. Jesus didn’t come of himself , God is the one who sent him like all other prophets ?
Who sent Moses ? God
Who sent Soloman ? God
Who sent David ? God
So simple
3. tow different wills here “ Will of God” and “Will of Jesus”
Clearly states that Jesus came to do the will of God not his will for sure, like all other prophets came before Jesus, they all came to do and deliver the will and message of God.
Jesus is totally submitted to God ? because تesus speaks according to the commandment of God

As jesus is commanded to tell us the commandments of God
Now let us read what is the first and the greatest commandment of God that was told by Jesus to all of us ? !
29 Jesus answered, "“The greatest is, ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one: 30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. Mark 12:28-30 (World English Bible)

notice : Our God (Jesus's God your God and My god .. God of Abraham , Isaac, Ishmael, David , Soloman , Moses , Jesus and Mohamed peace be upon them all)

At the end .. the question is repeated again

Can Jesus do anything from himself ?

Those verses speak about the authority that Christ our Lord and Saviour had. He faced accusations of blasphemy and falsely taking on a Divine role. Those verses speak of who He was not blaspheming nor falsely taking a Divine role, because He had the authority of God, He had the authority to do things (such as forgive peoples sins); a role which rests with God alone.

maybe i should talk in Arabic so people may understand me ? !!

or is it about being blind and stubborn ?

but i guess it's all about pride and arrogance !!

Jesus himself by his tongue telling you :
1- I can do nothing on my own
2- I judge as God tells me
3- I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will.
4- I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true
5- I don't speak on my own authority
6- The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it.

so What can we learn from the teaching of Jesus :
1- All miracles he did by the will and power of God.
2- He can't judge people, he only says the judge of God as he is a prophet.
3- He can't do his will but God's will.
4- He like all other prophets was sent by the permission of God.
5- He can't speak from his own mind, he only tells what God taught him to deliver the message of the one who sent him.
6- He is only a servant that commanded by God what to talk and how to talk.

and guess what my brother and sister !!!
The Holy Quran is confirming all points mentioned above as well, but i guess i am not allowed to post any quranic verses here.

That's funny because I am still waiting for a response from you, for the last two "Biblically supported evidences and verses" I gave in the last two challenges you offered.

What assurances do I have that if I go through the effort here, you will not simply ignore what you can not refute, and move on to the series of challenges?

Dear USAMA.EGYPTIAN. Jesus came to Earth to do God`s Will. While Jesus was being ill-treated by the Sanhedrin, He told His disciples: If I wanted to, God would send an army of Angels to free me, but I came to lay down my life for all of you. Jesus could have asked God-His Father: Help me! But He ended by saying: " Not my will be done, but Thy Will." Jesus came to do God`s Will, ONLY God`s Will, out of Love for God and Love for Mankind. I say this with love, USAMA. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

Yep.

Jesus is Lord.

(Matthew 1:23 - “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

John 10:30 - Jesus answered them, “I and My Father are one.”)

but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
1 Peter 3:15
If you wish to know of the "Hope" that is inside of me all you have to do is ask. The challenges you issue are more a kin to what Christ speaks of in Mat 7:Matthew 7:6
“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

That is why i asked you to address what has already been given to you. Without being responsible to what you have already been given, then I am able to label your actions/deeds as that of a dog or swine as Christ describes in Mt. 7

preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
2 Timothy 4:2
..And you have your rebuke, a reprove and my patiences has been demonstrated in pointing all of this out to you with a larger measure of respect than you have shown any of us.

can't you follow your holy book ? !!
I can not follow it with a Muslim judging my word thought and deed with his "holy book" as his guide. But if you use The Bible as your guide you can easily see I have meet all of the requirements you have pointed out.

read what is your book telling you and don't argue ..
And I could tell you to read what I say and do not argue. But that is your right if you wish to explore Christianity. However if you want to be deemed an "Explorer" then you have to explore all of what I have written from the pages of my "Holy Book" and not just what you are able to easily refute.

u have an answer go ahead and post it, whatever the reason is and whatever the time is .. your book is imposing on you to answer wither you like or you don't .
I have an answer for you. Just like I have an answer for every other question you have asked so far. The real question is do you have a response for me? As of yet I am "Still Waiting."

you can't reply my question with a question ? can you ? !
The question/answer is do I want to?

i posted one question with many verses supporting the answer that is clear like a sun
Those who only know of the dark of night do not know that the Moons light is not indeed the sun. If you will concede to my answers in those other posts, then we will move on to this one.

waiting for a clear answer with documented verses from the bible
As Am I. Every question you have asked has gotten an biblically based answer from me. If you want to prove you are not one of the dogs or swine Christ speaks of in Mt 7 that prevents me from going any further than what I have then simply concede my points in your other posts or you may biblically challenge what has been written. Otherwise know you have been biblically identified as a swine or a dog and as such we are commanded not to throw our pearls of wisdom before you.

you know how it looks like ?

it's like when you ask someone :

can you drive this car ? and he answers you No i can't drive.

Can Jesus do anything from himself ? then Jesus himself answering you " I can do nothing on my own"

but you insisting Yes this person can drive this car though he himself denied and said he can't drive.

and then look to your weak answer.

i didn't ask you "Is Jesus God or not ? "

your answer has nothing to do from far or near to my question.

i really feel so pity for you my brother. i can feel how weak and doubtful you are. trying to defend your doubts. but take one moment of honesty thinking with your mind wisely, it's not here about winning or losing, it's not about your pride or mine, it's all about truth, it's all about using that brain that God gifted you, God is the living God from everlasting to everlasting,
your God and my God, God of Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael , Job, David, Salomon, Daniel, Aliyah the prophet, Joesph, Moses, Jesus and Mohamed (peace be upon them all)

- sister emmy
thank you for your respectful words, my dear sister i don't want to change the topic but briefly let me tell you that angels already was with Jesus in every step, because God made a promise which is "i will let my angels to save you even from the stone that may hit your feet", even such small thing that may hurt Jesus peace be upon him, but you telling me that God broke his promise leaving him for some jews and romans to spit on him ? !
allowing Romans and jews to mock him ?
allowing Romans and jews to crucify him ?
allowing Romans and jews to put Jesus on the cross while he is naked ?!!!
what kind of justice is this ?
what kind of mercy is this ?
finally didn't u know that the hanged on the cross is under the curse of God ? ! so how it could be the one that God blessed him, is cursed at the same time ? !!
re-read re-think to realize and let me tell you that the first word in the holy quran that was delievered to Prophet mohamed (peace be upon him) is : READ and he answered " i can't read", go to Isiahi 29 - 12

Usami,

Jesus did everything right to show us how we should be..
he was exemplifying how we should act in saying that we could do nothing without god so that we could say the same thing...

Jesus spoke in parables (in code)....he himself was a parable that some people don't and didn't understand...

Matthew 13:10

The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”

11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:

“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:

“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’

He could do anything he wanted but he did come down to fulfill prophecy...

Dear Usama.Egyptian. Jesus died out of Love for God and for us, if Jesus had not paid the prize, which God`s Holy Law demanded, none of us would have been saved, and Satan would have us all in his cruel grip. But Jesus is all Love and Compassion, He told God, while hanging on the Cross, in great pain: " Father forgive them, they know not what they are doing." Can you think of greater Love? I say this with love, Usama. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

my brother , meinbox

again you intentionally ignoring my question
i didn't talk about any prophecies here
i didn't talk about the crucifixion
i didn't mention any specific point related to Jesus Christ except ONE.

Can Jesus do anything from Himself ? ! Yes or No

and i asked you to answer clear answer and you did already " YES" but where are your documented verses supporting your answer ? !!

NONE .. ZERO .. the verses you brought in post no. 8 have no relation with my question " i didn't ask you If Jesus is God or not "

you are now requested to give verses that supporting the idea that Jesus is able to do miracles , what to say , how to say , all this on his own.

waiting for documented verses supporting your answer !!!!!
otherwise your answer is considered to be useless as long as there is no proof. it's better to say i don't have an answer rather than arguing and trying to go around the question.

Did you read
Isiahi 29 - 12 go -- back to post no 10 -- ?

1. Jesus died out of love for God and for us
wrong
and the truth is :
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; .... 14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
Psalms91

2. if Jesus had not paid the prize, which God`s Holy Law demanded, none of us would have been saved, and Satan would have us all in his cruel grip
Wrong
And the truth is :
.' All people will die for their own sins--those who eat the sour grapes will be the ones whose mouths will pucker.
Jeremiah 31:31 – 32

Also see :
For all people are mine to judge--both parents and children alike. And this is my rule: The person who sins is the one who will die.
Ezekiel 18:4

3. Jesus is all Love and Compassion, He told God, while hanging on the Cross, in great pain: " Father forgive them, they know not what they are doing." Can you think of greater Love? I say this with love,

Wrong
And the truth is :
a. If Jesus is God in flesh why he asked God the father to forgive them ? while he himself forgave before ? !!! strange !!! isn’t Jesus fully God and fully man ? !!! .. it's not a movie here starring by Jesus so don't tell me that Jesus is trying to teach us because if he wanted to he will say it clearly . go to John 18 -20
Jesus replied, "Everyone knows what I teach. I have preached regularly in the synagogues and the Temple, where the people gather. I have not spoken in secret.

b. when jesus on the cross saying “ they know not what they are doing “
I wonder why jesus said so ?
They exactly know what they doing .. they are killing God in flesh and spitting on him in order to save us all from sins .. they did a great thing for the whole humanity
Won’t you share them and enjoy killing God in flesh in order to save the humanity ? !
