Mix is a word I might not have chosen. They are not mutually exclusive, though. One is based on Science and the other is based on theology, so they can exist side by side with no conflict.

No, Darwin's been pushing up daisies for a long time. The theory of evolution and the Genesis account don't mesh either, but that's because the former is a description of the mechanical processes involved with Creation, and the latter is a mythological treatise on who is responsible for our universe and why.

Sure Darwin and Genesis mix if you don't mind mixing your metaphors. Having actually read both Origin of Species and Genesis I decided Darwin's thesis was right, species are not immutable but then again Genesis never said that they were. I think we could do without Darwin's mythical monstrocities though, we have moved on from the time where poetic prose is needed to get people to think about evolution.
