• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello- I would have to concur that being involved in a Forum like this, even for an hour a day, is not the same and is not acceptable as your Christian obligation of being within a Church group.

The CF is not a bad thing- in fact it a very good thing. But it is not the same....

God Bless,
Ken

I believe that God calls us to serve one another and build strong relationships, this can hardly happen in a forum.
What does that have to do w/going to church? The only strong relationships I have EVER seen in church come from those who "desire to run things".

Going to church has several functions in my view
1st gives me the opportunity to Praise and worship God with others
No argument w/this stmt.

2nd the opportunity to mix socially with Gods people on a one to one basis
(from what I've seen/heard if the majority of people in church are God's People-I'll be glad when He kicks their butt.)

3rd May get the opportunity to share my faith and or beliefs with a non believer if they walk in

Come on-the non-believer is not likely to be in church. Those of us who do believe
have a hard enough time stomaching it.

4th To hear Gods word and teachings (You can do just as well w/TV or here)
Some of what you hear/see is correct, most is misconstrued & alot is just plain HORSEFEATHERS.

I'm working on trying to go back to church on a regular basis, but that's alot of mud to waid through. I say coming here, using TV, Radio, Internet & BETTER yet 12-STEP or other spiritual groups is where those of us who have been wounded/abused by the "CHURCH" get a chance to heal, before retruning to the battlefield.

I have met more REAL christians outside "organized church" than inside. It's sad, but so!

I think a real church is much more satisfying. But some people may not be able to attend for various reasons. If I had to use a Christian website as my church, I don't think I'd pick CF for that. There are better options.
