can a christian be cursed?

Every since I've been going to this doctor, it seems like I've been having problem after problem. and the other day, I found out he was bhudist(bad spelling) anyway...do you think he could have put a curse on me, I have been emotionly and financely drain every since I have been going to him. should i leave him and find a christian doctor whom I know and go to church with?

Dear George,

Since Buddhists do not practice this sort of thing, I highly doubt the doctor is to blame...but I would say see another doctor and get a second opinion on your condition. Doesn't necessarily have to be a Christian or someone you go to church with. If you truly feel "afflicted", see your pastor. Spiritual sickness is real and you should investigate that possibility. But I sincerely doubt that your Buddhist doctor has placed a curse on you. Buddhists do not practice "black magic".

And don't worry about being cursed by anyone! Jesus is more powerful than any spell or curse....The only one that could curse you is God, and since you believe and follow Him, He is on your side.

However, there are such things as demons...and if you feel that you have let a demon come in to your life(they can't unless you let them, because of Jesus) and have some type of influence on you, you should seek spiritual help as Suzannah has suggested.

I believe a Christian can be, because it does talk about generational curses etc. All through the Bible. I do believe of course though that Jesus has power over all of that. Sometimes a curse is not like all creepy voodoo stuff I doubt if there is one that it is from your doctor...it may be but I dont think that it probably is. sometimes you can curse yourself even ("I will never feel better" etc) All you got to do is repent for your part in it and pray like this " Lord I take authority over any work the enemy has in my life and I stand in faith and brake every curse from both family lines that has been spoken over me to the 3 & 4th generation (since the Bible is specific a curse can stay that long) I sever it at the root and I claim it as null and void. Lord I thank you that every lie and curse of the enemy is under my feet thanks to your sacrafice for me, thank you that you became a curse for me that I no longer have to be subject to a curse, Amen!"
Then you just have to stand in faith that you are set free.
I actually would like to pray for healing for you. Lord I just pray for George right now. I thank you God that you are the great phycisian God and Lord I jus command every illness to leave his body, go right now in Jesus name. God I just ask that from the top of his head to the soles of His feet that your Spirit would just cover him, that His body would come into alignment with everything that you created him to be. Lord I thank you Lord that you bore our sickness and that by your stripes we are healed. I just claim that healing today and stand in fiath that it is done, Amen.

If you still feel sick keep claiming your healing... you are healed your body just may not know it yet...keep believing in faith that you are healed, and keep comming against illness...sickness is not of God so you dont have to tolerate, if it isnt in heaven than it doesnt belong on earth

Thanks so much lindsey...it seemed like one day I went from here to there over nite, I always ride my bike and eat right pretty much,and try to do the right things, but it seems like the effort I'm making is not enough, without medcine. I have always been prideful about taking medicine, but I really have no choice. and I do love life, and I do want to spend it without pain and discomfort. I know God can change my situation in an instance, but he has others plans right now, and I need to trust him.

i dont have any biblical references but if it's beiing cursed by someone or a demon, then no, you cannot. If they Holy Spirit really lives in you, you can't be cursed. Not by anyone, demon or thing.

That's what i believe anyway. I'll have to check. There's a verse somewhere in my head but it's really sketchy. Can't remember.

However if you're talking about a curse such as challenges, problems etc, they're not curses. That's called, challenges, problems etc.

More rather the devil trying to stuff you up by using problems against you.

As for you going to church, if you are not able to go to church, then make sure you read your bible and worship at home. If you don't you will be spiritually starved.

I'd been thinking about getting my blood checked (cause there have been some ppl who've advised me to) .it's just that it's hard to get my blood!!! don't know why but I have 'hidden' veins!! haha but no, you're kind of encouraging me to go see my doctor...thanks, man!

I live in a hostel.. The person that was in my room also did some buddhist stuff, and we did have some trouble with some weird things. But we anointed the room and prayer for God to break any stronghold or bad thing and things sorted out after that.

Can Christians be cursed? Well how about you go practise some witchcraft stuff and see what happens Even thought we are christians demons can still affect us if we open the door to them. But they do have limited access usually I guess. AFAIK demons can never get complete control over a christian but can only affect them. Like cause doubt and feare or depression.

But I think it's not a good idea to go shouting demon! demon! all the time.
But it's also a bad idea to be ignorant of the schemes of the devil.

George if you think something is wrong.. Pray! God gave you all the authority to break every curse and stronghold that might be placed over you. Also ask your Pastor to pray for you or a cell leader or close friend. Then praise God that we are made free of the oppressions of the devil I suggest finding another doctor maybe?

Even if a Christian were to be cursed, it could be broken through the name of Christ. He is the curse breaker and the healer. "Behold! I make all things new."

Its possible that someone may be speaking words of death over you, because youve become a christian. I NEVER pretend to anyone that being a christian is easy. Why? Because we are Gods chosen people, and Satan doesnt like that. Be strong in teh word, ask a minister from your church to pray with you, and ask God to reveal the ROOT of the illness. Going to the Doctor can deal with the symptoms, but not the root - get down to that, and pray against it.

The name of JESUS is a POWERFUL name. NOTHING will prevail against it. Find the root, and ask jesus to deal with it

Thanks whitedove...and the rest of you guys, your support is so encouraging at this time, I've had alot on my mine of latley. as of my health status, I took more test yesterday, still nothing, there was no infection or bleeding(praise God) they still want more test. you guys please continue to pray for me, if God is using this to build my character, please pray that i will be obedient to this. pray that I will still be christlike around others, sometimes I lose focous of this. pray that I will focous on him instead of my circumstance. in the meantime, I'm trying to do some little things to see if it helps out. again thanks, and God be with you Guys. have a nice day.

Yes, demons certainly can affect Christians. Paul is the most famous example. His thorn in the flesh, for example. We do not know if it an affliction in his physical flesh or a problem with his old nature; God said His grace was enough for him. People assume it was a physical malady, but the term according to the lexicon can be used for either.

And in his case, pride was the sin he struggled with, as revealed in the text. If you think it's demonic, ask the Lord to heal you, ask Him what the portal is that is allowing it, and take a spiritual approach without neglecting the physical help. But if you want a Christian doctor, I think that's a very good idea anyway, simply because you're working together from the same ethic and with the same understanding.

Does the doctor use eastern remedies? THis might be something else as well. Because sometimes there are religious implication to certain treatments; a philosophy of medicine that should be avoided.

I think Heinrich was joking about trying the witchcraft to find out, since of course that is dangerous. But even if the buddhist doesn't practice these things, if he practices his own religion, he may not be doing anything to you consciously, but the activity may result from the fact that you are a Christian. And if there's anything in His practices that are of a religious nature...well, you get the picture.
