Campsite reviews - help!

I live in southwestern Michigan and after 11 years of marriage I have finally convinced my wife to go tent camping once in a while. I am looking for campsites in the area that are fairly friendly to families because I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old. The Michigan state parks near here are great but are usually crowded and require reservations months in advance.

What also would help is links to campsite review websites. I have found some on the net but the information is usually out of date, inaccurate or incomplete. Any help here as well would be appreciated.

We took our boys camping all of the time, from the time they were 3 or 4 years old up until high school. The little ones needed lots of changes of clothing. We made sure the camp ground had indoor showers, which we used a LOT .... good luck.

Contact your forestry service agencies in Michigan and ask them about places to go outback camping. Only way to truly have a camping experience in the woods is to get away from other people!
