  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The camera I am currently using uses normal AA batteries. Problem is, is that regular batteries drain quickly! So I put Duracell Pre-Charged Rechargeable batteries in it last weekend and they have been lasting longer and working great. Does anyone else use these? What batteries do you use in your camera?

I use two Canon NB-2LH batteries in my XT's battery grip. Sterlingtek makes great after market batteries too that are way cheaper than name-brand.

I can also use 6 AA batteries in my battery grip, and once I get a shoe mount flash, I'll probably switch to using rechargeable AA's to make battery charging easier, and I hear they last longer in the camera than two Canon batteries.

Li-Ion and NiMH batteries tend to be best for rechargeable AA's. Try to buy rechargeable that are at least 2000 mAh. The larger that number, the longer they'll last.

The Duracell Pre-Charged Rechargeables I got are 2000 mAh and I really can't believe the difference they are making - I am not constantly switching the batteries anymore, they work great! They worked right out of the pack and they are not expensive, CVS has them for $11.99 - when you make the switch, I highly recommend them, they really do last longer!

My old camera came with its own rechargeable battery and that was nice but when I was out and it drained and didn't have the charger, that was just a mess! The Duracell Pre-Charged Rechargeables are nice because not only do they last a long time but you can bring back ups with you and don't have to worry about running out of battery. Duracell has a site called the Museum of the Obvious there are fun video's and games about the history of the rechargeable battery! It is a fun site to play around on - I joined the hall of members!
