God is not the Author of confusion, so neither Should His Scholars. So are you for Calvinism or against it???

the title of the thread sounds like it was a bad thing happening at this Church, but the opening post sound like it was a good thing ????

I think he's just appreciating the irony. Here you have a nondenominational denomination whose leader is anti-Calvinist, yet the more he encourages congregants to study the Scriptures, the more they come to know and love the doctrines of grace. The real shame is that Smith doesn't get it. Hopefully one day...

I understand your statements above and please do not run if I say I started in Calvary Chapel in a district of Los Angeles back in the 1970s so long ago and oddly they act as if to leave me behind or abandon me in how they let talk on their call phones and seem to ignore the original 'goers' in that system .. so I do know much about it but even my fellow people who once knew people like me are abandoning me in a way but I'd miss how they encouraged to get grounded in the scriptures as that I do recall was so blessed to know and I did that and studied God's Word a lot since the early 1980s as saved too. But some of it I cannot get a hold of many christians in it if when they see you are farther away from them geographically like something has 'changed' in that group . I have a library of Christian books to keep me seeking in His Word which I am glad to do it but now becoming more independant of CC oddly enough but still like seeing true believers among those who are .I crave true fellowship too.I never heard of John Calvin or Arminianism until the 90s. So I don't even use their stuff much except maybe stuff wrote 100s of years back by reformer preachers like Spurgeon etc but only to seek out truths more so and keep my heart on Jesus in these times.

I went to a Calvary Chapel for a couple of years and really enjoyed it. I made no bones about the fact that I was Calvinist while I was there. The pastor had no issue with it - I later found out that the youth pastor was Calvinist. He is now part of SGM. I don't know much about Bryson or Smith - but I do know that my own experience with CC was generally a positive one. I think White's assertion that Calvary Chapel produces a lot of Calvinists is true though. I've seen it first hand...
