Romans 10:1-13 King James Bible
10 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

2 BESAUSE I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3 BECAUSE they being ignorant of God's WORK WHICH IS BY FAITH, and going about to establish their own WORK WHICH IS BY THE LAW, have not submitted themselves unto the WORK of God WHICH IS BY FAITH.

4 BECAUSE Christ is the end of the law for THE WORK OF GOD to every one that believeth.

5 BECAUSE Moses describeth the WORK OF GOD which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live BY DOING THEM

6 But the WORK OF GOD which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above THAT WE MAY HEAR THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD AND DO IT

7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead THAT WE MAY HEAR THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD AND DO IT)

8 But what saith THE SCRIPTURE IN DEUTERONOMY 30:14? The COMMANDMENT is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the COMMANDMENT of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto THE WORK OF GOD THAT RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD; and with the mouth confession is made unto THE SAVING OF JESUS FROM THE DEAD.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him IN HEAVEN shall not be ashamed IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT.

AS IT IS WRITTEN:

thus saith the Lord JESUS, Behold, I lay in THE CITY OF GOD for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not RUN IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT

12 BECAUSE(EXPLAINING THE WHOSOEVER IN THE PREVIOUS VERSE) there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich IN MERCY unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved FROM ETERNAL DEATH IN THE DAY OF THE LORD: THE DAY OF JUDGMENT.

AS IT IS WRITTEN:

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in THE CITY OF GOD and in NEW Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

I am not here to debate, these are correct interpretations.

Why are you changing the wording of the KJV? Leave it as it is, it makes more sense the original way.

Stop changing God’s Word.

Why Confess Christ?
The Use and Abuse of Romans 10:9-10

Why Confess Christ

Confessing the Lord Jesus in relation to Romans 10 is referring to calling on him for mercy: and calling on the name of the Lord was done while believers were being baptized in his name.

The link explains that Romans 10:9,10 is misused as a salvation text and that is not what Romans 10:9,10 is addressing. Instead the calling is done by believers for God to rescue the believer in time of distress. The read is long but well worth it.

I acknowledged my sin unto the Lord Jesus, and mine iniquity have I not hid in my heart like Adam. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and he forgavest the iniquity of my sin.

Because the Lord Jesus is good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon him.

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

What a lot of folk don't understand is that the whole Bible is a salvation text. The whole point of the Bible is to get sinners saved. If we don't see it that way, we totally miss what the Bible is all about.

The Gospel of John is the only book stated as its purpose from being written is to tell people how to have life (eternal life).
And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

The Bible many times when saved is in view, it is not a eternal life salvation, but the physical salvation of the believer from problems, harm, or from a punishment from God for sin.

That's the exact problem; you're changing scripture to fit your interpretation. It doesn't matter whether I agree with your interpretations or not, it's the principle of leaving God's Word untouched by the doctrines of men, and allowing the Spirit to provide correct understanding instead of changing the inspired words of God.

There were men in the 200s, and even in Paul's time (2 Corinthians 2:17), that changed and corrupted the Word of God to push their own agenda. Don't do that; God ordered the Words in scripture exactly how he wanted them.

Comparing scripture with scripture leads us to compare Romans 10:13 to Acts 2:21. Both are quoting the same verse in the Old Testament. Acts 2:21 is used in the context of eternal salvation; therefore, Romans 10:13 is speaking of eternal salvation as well.

If we view the Bible as the account of God's plan of salvation for mankind and see it in terms of the whole overview of the different stages of the plan's development through from Adam to Christ, then we will see each event and experience as whether it is contributing to the successful development of the plan, or whether it is a hindrance to it.

We see the positive examples of godly men and women who contributed to the successful development of God's plan through their lives and actions. Take Esther for example. Her actions saved all the exiled Jews, who would have been exterminated, thereby possibly setting back the develop of God's plan for as long as it would taken for the surviving Jews to increase their numbers to have been able to return to Jerusalem. The return to Jerusalem under Ezra and Nehemiah would not have taken place because there would not have been enough to complete the work of rebuilding the city. And yet the book of Esther said nothing about the salvation of souls, but the events in it were crucial to it.

So, if the Bible is split up and view piecemeal, then that overview could be lost from view and that instead of using the Scriptures to encourage sinners to come to Christ, the Bible could be treated as just an academic document and end up with people just teaching vanity.

I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of
the Lord.
And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.

That verse is addressing time during the tribulation where believing people will be saved from God's wrath, that He will be bringing on the earth.

The Bible states to receive eternal life a person is to believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah from Old Testament prophecies and trust in The Messiah for His free gift of eternal life.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

That is stated over 70 times in the Gospel of John.

As Jesus pointed out to Cleopas, one of the disciples who walked with Him on the road to Emmaus, He is referred to right through the whole Bible.
