Oh Oh me me! I'm a huge fan of the Doctor!

anyways...

My favourite Doctor is Christopher Eccleston, yup the new one... well the new new one is David Tennant, but I haven't seen that series yet.

My favourite companion, Captain Jack Harkness! He amused the stuffing out of me.

Favourite Bad guy, That would be the Daleks in general... but characters, I would say you can't beat the Master.

Favourite episode, Bad Wolf or The Empty Child.

(Yup I modelled the Tardis)

Howdy fellow Whovians! It's neat to see a thread dedicated to fans of the Doctor on a Christian BBS.

My favorite Doctor - and empirically the best - is Willam Hartnell. I think Hartnell did the best job of capturing the true nature of the Doctor - irrascable, wiley, treacherous, curious, doting, imperious and caring. Plus he had the best theme song. It's hard to beat the original.

I'll give credit to Baker (Tom, not that other one), Troughton and McCoy. I understand Eccleston is a wonder to watch as well.

Favorite villian: Daleks

Most useless/contrived villian: Kroll

Favorite Episode: well I can't pick one so I'll pick one from each of the Doctors: The Daleks (Hartnell), The War Games (Troughton), Doctor Who and Silurians (Pertwee), Pyramids of Mars (Baker, the Good One), The Five Doctors (Davidson), The Two Doctors (Baker, the Fat One - and I pick this only for the sake of picking one episode from each generation and the fact that Troughton starred in it), The Curse of Fenric (McCoy).

I hope to be receiving the first season of the new episodes in the mail soon, and I'll update my list after I've had a chance to watch them.

Favorite Companion: Vislor Turlough - I wished he had had more episodes in which to develop and expand his character. He was by far the most intriguing and interesting of the Doctor's companions. Dodo is a close second. Susan and Ian got the best treatment of any of the companions however in that they actually completed a meaningful story arc. I would put Zoe and Jamie in that same category.

Companion I would most like to shoot out the airlock in deepspace: Harry Sullivan with K-9 tied to one ankle and Kamelion tied to the other.

Welcome Chaoschristian, Glad you could contribute to the forum. I found there were quite a few fans here on CF so set up the forum for them.

I hear that K9 will be back in season 29 (series 2) along with Sarah Jane Smith in an episode called School reunion.

I got the season 28 (series 1) boxed set too for christmas along with the 2006 annual, a dalek bottle opener that goes "exterminate" when used, the talking TARDIS moneybox (eccleston and Billie piper) a signed first day cover of Tom Baker (my personal favorite) and Lalla ward for "state of decay" and a dalek mouse mat. (I'm easy to please!) ;)

Thanks for setting up the thread!

I'm not a K-9 hater, after all who could really hate a cute robotic dog? I do hate the way the concept was thought through and executed. This applies to Kamelion as well. Both were great ideas that suffered from poor execution. It would have been better for the producers to say, "You know what fellas, these are great ideas, but on our budget there is no way in time-space that we are going to pull this off in an acceptable manner, so let's just pass."

I look forward to the return of Sarah Jane Smith, she is on my Top 10 List of all time best companions.

Ok, the new year is upon us and its time for inward reflection, resolution making, looking forward to a brighter, better future - yada, yada, yada.

In this spirit, look back over the long past of Doctor Who and come up with a wish list of New Year's Resolutions for the production team of the new series.

For example: I resolve that the production team should not get so desperate for ratings among the children's demographic that "The Wiggles" become the Doctor's companions (reference: Bonnie Langford)

So, do you have any resolutions for the production team that will help them keep the Doctor to the highest standards of drama and science fiction and help to avoid the mistakes of the past?
