Calling all Non-Christians!!

What turns you off from Christianity the most?

  • The hyprocritical lifestyle of many Christians.

  • I already have a firm beleif in another faith.

  • The Doctrine of Hell. (for non-Christians)

  • Its a dull faith.

  • It simply doesnt make sense. Christianity is illogical.

  • I've had some bad personal experiences with Christians.

  • Christian beleifs are too narrow-minded and doctrinal.

  • I have issue with Christian teaching. (i.e on Homosexuality, the role of women etc...)

If you care to learn, I could help you to gain insight on your post.
The reverse applies as well. If you care to learn, and are open-minded
enough.... many of us could help you see things you've been blinded
to by limiting yourself to a collection of ancient writings altered over time
which you claim as truth.

Truth is in nature...in the Creation.

Listen to the wind...for it speaks....

This brings to mind:

By Carol McGrath, from a Native American woman:

If you take the Christian Bible and put it out in the wind and the rain, soon the paper on which the words are printed will disintegrate and the words will be gone. Our bible IS the wind and the rain.

HD, I really like that quote.

I think there are many things about Christianity that bother me, although most Christians are not like that from my experience. It's a few loud and obnoxious bad apples that ruin that barrel, I think. A multiple choice poll would probably be most accurate for this question.....

I know enough about both sides of the tracks to know what I am taling about. I could say more, but will just let it rest. You greatly underestimate what I know and what you do not know. Too presuptuous!!

I am not bound by a Bible. God lives outside of that. He does not cease to exist without it.

ahhhh...but earlier you claimed this:

The Bible is the bearer of truth on the issues. Opinions do not count.

That is your side of the story. If you did not underestimate, then you would not have responded the way you did. You are underestimating that book. Yes, opinions do not count. What I was pointing out was that the Bible is part of God's word, but all that God says is not in Bible. I am bound by God and His word, of which the Bible is a part of.

One of you taunted the Bible by calling it some ancient book that men have changed. That does not make it untrue. You seem to know more about it than I, who study it regularly for understanding and it's purpose. Most of the comments that have been made here are purely ignorant and without reasonable support; so I simply made a couple of post to bring it to your attention.

I can not change your mind but I can offer you a remedy to prevent much of the ignorance of your comments. I will respond to the two posts soon.

On the original topic, its not anything wrong with Christianity that prevents me from converting, but rather that I am happy with my own religion.

Hinduism is so all-compassing, we believe that all paths – Christianity, Buddhism, Islam… all lead to God. We believe in one God, that everyone sees Him in different ways.

With this belief, there is no need to convert; some say Hinduism is not even a religion, an “-ism,” but a way of life. We call Hinduism Sanatana Dharma, “eternal way of life.”

That particular post and the ones immediately leading up to it did seem to be taunting Bible. Go back and read them. I know that typed text into the little box can sometimes be difficult to interpret on the other end.

Anyways.
Stating facts that I can prove is not taunting. Care to discuss?
