This blurb is somewhat old, but still applicable.
To sum it all up neatly-- The demon threat is rising, the people who normally do the killing (the sk'kirrim) are too busy killing each other to kill the demons, and now we need people to step in and play that vital role. (Our Group O' Heroes).
The Heroes So Far--
Phaedros Dahlmarrin (male half-Elf), Geomancer/Druid-ish type. Hates sk'kirrim for reasons to be discussed later.
Nadirem (Nadi) Bringham (male Halfling), our de facto healer. Important in some interesting way, though.
Allarena Ellufe (female Human) our Red Mage. Also not a sk'kirrim fan.
Tsaien Sirachsdottir Mir'savi (female Sk'kirrim), heavy-hitting martial artist and ninja type. Not the most agreeable of people, but has the whole demon-hunting spirit of the sk'kirrim in spades.
Minion Leah (male Human), resident Thief and flirt! Why do they always go together... for shame.
Tosan Garvek (male Human) Ranger and resident Really Tall Guy(TM).
Oamra Calmcacil (female Human) The shapeshifter, comes with bonus animal companions! Woo-hoo.
Iartal Arakkan (male Sk'kirrim) A very rare sk'kirrim Mage (known as a Kho in their language); hasn't actually run into the group yet, though.
The Story Thus Far
Most of the main heroes of the crisis 200-someodd years previously have passed on to other planes of existence, forever immortalized in history for ending what is now known as the Season of Shadow. After confronting their worst fears in the realm if the demons, unlocking the secrets of the Crystals and banishing the darkness and insanity that had plagued all of their home continent of Stonshire (which isn't where we are now, I've decided), they had returned to Delfia triumphant, though missing a few of their party. And all the heroes had gone on to seek their own fortunes...
Two hundred years later, though, the situation is once again degenerating- and it has recently been found that the heroes who ended the Season of Shadow unwittingly helped set this in motion. The sk'kirrim, a race that served as a buffer between the demons and the other races, are riddled with internal religious conflicts that have rendered them all but ineffective in their defense. This is the result of a schism brought on by Lucia Argenquiris, one of the heroes from the Season of Shadow who has now become a prophetess. Because of this inability to perform their sacred duty, and the strife they've caused in the past two centuries, the once revered sk'kirrim now face a great deal of discrimination, bitterness and outright hatred from the other races. They are now almost universally shunned and distrusted because of this inability to perform their sacred duty.
Now the other races have little choice but to band together in the face of this impending threat from the demons. The heroes of 200 years previously couldn't have known this, but their actions have touched off a chain of events that could spell d*mnation if not somehow averted...
Perhaps, in saving the world before, they'd merely condemned it to an even more hideous end. It is up to a new band of heroes to make sure that doesn't happen... and hopefully find a way to stave off the impending demonic threat. (Gee, guess who that means!)

Historical Notes on the Sk'kirrim
Though they served as a buffer against the demons in the past, lately internal struggles among the sk'kirrim have rendered them all but ineffective in their defense. The ranks of the praesthii (demon hunters/sk'kirrim military) have dwindled to a mere fraction of their former number, and the sk'kirrim civilization is, for all practical purposes, in ruins. Because of this inability to perform their sacred duty, and the strife they've caused in the past two centuries, the once revered sk'kirrim now face a great deal of discrimination, bitterness and outright hatred from the other races. They are now almost universally shunned and distrusted, Among the most reviled sk'kirrim is the prophetess Lucia Argenquiris, the woman believed to be the primary cause of this schism, and her followers come under considerable fire as well.

In the RPG:
Phaedros and Tosan have found a strange dagger stuck into the rafter of Phaedros's apartment, which coincided with an attack on Farselm from a demon(?) named Barieth, who seeks the stone within the hilt of the dagger. An unnatural mist covered the town of Farselm and has started to be absorbed by the stone, much to the surprise of Tosan and Phaedros.
Alarena, intending on investigating the mist herself, ended up running into a couple of Barieth's demons... and Oamra once again, whom she'd seen earlier. Much to the Red Mage's chagrin Tsaien joined them, ostensibly with the intent of bagging some demon kills for herself, but the presence of the sk'kirrim has aroused Alarena's suspicion, even though Oamra and Tsaien are friendly enough with each other. Now that Barieth has withdrawn the attack on them for now, they are following the disappearing mist to Tosan and Phaedros's location.
Minion and Nadi are who-knows-where-- most likely with Lucia and her sk'kirrim compatriots, who are working feverishly to secure Farselm from further attack. After this episode has passed, Lucia plans on speaking with the group concerning what is going on. The dagger will no doubt be of interest to her.
(Update on that-- Tosan, Alarena, Oamra, Tsaien and Phaedros are now gathered together, there's an Eric guy floating around somewhere, and Phaedros and Tsaien are having a giganterous hissy fit. Well... Phaedros is because he hates sk'kirrim. Tsaien is playing it cool, Oamra and Alarena are rather irritated with him, and Tosan is extremely annoyed as well and just wants to get moving on this whole mad quest.)
Finally...
Sk'kirrim Race Blurb (done PHB style)-- see Post #3 in this OOC Thread!
It's a lot to read through, but we're at a prime spot to jump in...
Hopefully this isn't too confusing.
