Calling all Attachment Parenting moms, a question??

My daughter is almost 21 months old. Is she too old for me to use a sling or something with. She knows how to play on her own and gives me mommy time, but, when she isn't on her own, she is desperate to be held. She doesn't want to be entertained, she just wants to be close to mommy. I want to give her that love, which she obviously needs, but it is hard to wash dishes, cook, clean, etc. with only one hand. Is there something I can do to free up my hands and still hold her, or is she too big. I thought about one of those backpack things, but most of them for toddlers look bulky and uncomfortable, and very complicated. I need something that I can wear when she wants to be on me, but I can easily take her out of when she wants to play. Any suggestions??

We really liked the backpack when the kids got bigger and wanted to be held. It kept our hands freer than having one right up front. Also see about maybe a stepstool next to you when doing dishes and have her "help" too.

Backpack. Unless you are tiny, you will probably find one that is pretty comfortable.
