Called to singleness!

First of I am 34 old guy and I starting to think that I have the calling of singleness. This is because I have no desire to get in a relationship or get married. I am fully devoted to the work of Jesus Christ and to his words. Now I am praying what next lord what must I do?

It's great that you know your calling. Part of me wonders if I'm not the same... even though I desire a family... I don't think it's meant for me. God has some greater purpose for me I believe... just gotta find out what it might be. Just one of those things we must pray about and wait for God to answer if He chooses to.

I'm pretty sure I will be single my whole life, but I don't believe I'm called to it. It's very upsetting for me.

Yes, I know what you mean, but I just don't know if my calling is life long cause I am still somewhat young and still unsure of my future.

If it's something you desire, you have to put yourself out there. It doesn't mean be desperate, but you have to put yourself in a position to meet people. Also, you have to be open to it, and be willing to risk rejection.

As someone who struggled with longtime singleness, it was a hard realization that the reason I was single for so long was because of indecisiveness. Do you know what you want? If you come off as unsure of what you want, others will pick up on it. At this age, people have wisened up, and are pretty good at picking up these signals.

The whole "gift of singleness" thing has been rendered rather useless in our circles, IMO.

I'm in no hurry to have kids or "make kids", but even some asexuals get married. My friend serves as a deacon at my former church and he just got married for the first time, and he's well into his 40's.

Only God Himself is absolutely certain about our futures.

You know what it all depends on your interest in getting married if a guy or girl has no intention of getting married God will not make one get married against their will if they don't want to.

The "gift of singleness" is for some. Just like OP said, he doesn't have a desire to get married or have a family. That could be for this season or it could be for a lifetime. The bible says. The bible says that God has placed the desires of our heart in us. If it is your desire to get married and have a family, He's the one that put it there and He's not going to put it there and keep you single.

I've been told maybe I have the gift of singleness time and time again. Each time I always reply with, "Return to sender." I usually get a questionable look and them saying why would you rebuke a gift that God may have sent you? I tell them it's not something God has sent me, because He has placed a desire for me to get married. When that season comes, awesome. But while I'm in this season of my life, I'm going to do all that I can to Glorify Him, to do what I may not be able to do while I'm married.
