  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is a line but it did not originate with Schiff. It may not be something Trump stated but it appears to be an accurate description of what he told Giuliani to do.

Right! Trump was just trying to be an amateur sleuth in his spare time . just like Honest Abe was a vampire hunter.

And Schiff claimed it was satire, a joke, just as Trump has claimed several times when people got upset about what he said. Seems like since Republicans defended Trump when he made "jokes" before, they have no right to complain about Schiff now -- particularly the President.

Then Schiff really is no better than Trump--the One that supposedly is so terrible and "attacks" people. It's strange to see people defending Schiff when he stoops that low, don't you think?

I'm not a fan of Schiff either -- as I'm not a fan of many Congresspersons. At the same time, it matters how the people in their district like them, since I only get to vote for (or since I've lived here, more typically against) my own.
