  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Calicos are not a moody breed so have no fear! They are actually lovingm naturally curious, and attention-seeking pets (my mother loves calicos the best out of all cats)! If you are serious in pursuing a Calico (or any cat) for personality purposes try to receive information reguarding that characteristics of its parents from the breeder. God bless!

I love calico's. Calico colored cats are almost always female. I've only see one that was not a female, and that one had both male & female parts, so go figure. Anyways, many female cats tend to be cranky and stand-offish, so the crankiness is not related to it being a calico (since calico is simply the name for it's coloring). If you don't have to have a kitten, I would go for an adult since you'll be able to tell it's personality and should be able to locate one that is more affectionate. Good luck in your search.

Calicoes and tortoiseshell cats are generally female - a male is very very rare! As a former veterinary technician, it did seem awfully coincidental that a good amount of the torties & callies we met were fiesty! You just have to meet the cat in particular and see what her personality is like. Personality has nothing to do with gender - you can have all personality types in any breed and in both sexes. It might be good to get an animal older than 5 months when it's personality is pretty evident and go from there!
