  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Even though we are single I KNOW there are times even we NEED a break...

What makes you need a break?
What do you do to relax?

Sometimes my cat drives me insane and I just want him away.
So I either go to my bedroom and shut the door
OR put up a folding screen in front of the entrance to the living room.

Other times I just light candles to relax.

Well! I often need a break from my family so I shut myself in my bedroom and watch TV. Not very constructive I know!

And my Dad can be a little bit trying so I need a break from him...

Most of the time I go out for a drive, put some music on and take my camera with me so I can stop and take pictures if I want!

And sometimes I play the flute which is very relaxing for me...

It's more likely that people (either at work or parents or someone like that) will start to drive me crazy, so I'll go hang out with my cat to relax :)

I also like napping, playing computer games, reading a devotional book and/or the Bible, hiking, bike-riding, camping, or playing sports (eg - paintball :))

I have issues with stress. When I was 19, I was hospitalized for a week because of stress...I developed shingles on my right hip. I was bedrested for an additional 12 days. So if I am working on a stressful project or something, I just walk away and will lay down and watch TV, or get on the computer and surf the internet or something like that.

When I am home, I have to get away from people sometimes, and so I will just go in my room and lay there with the door closed and just comtemplate...or I will drive around, that releases a lot of my stress.

I think even though we are single we definetly need calgon to take us away because most people forget that we don't have a spouse to help us with the household stuff like housework, meals, paying bills, etc. so of course we need a break. And if you are a single parent, well God's blessings to you my friend . . .your job is double the trouble (but well worth it!).

Anyway . . .I usually need to take a break when I've been around too many unChristlike for too long a period of time!

And what I do to relax is . . .take a calgon bath (like your OP says) AND light some wonderful smelling candles and enjoy the soft light. I also am an avid reader - of the Word first and foremost, then Christian literature. Plus I write and write and write volumes in my journal.

When I need a break, I go into bunker mode. No contact, not even the internet. I may play some comp games, but they get old quick. I'll do Calculus or Physics, or read, as long as it's something with meat, like theology, Calc or Physics. Actually, I've read huge portions of the Bible during some of my "breaks". I need to get alone sometimes to recharge my batteries, so to speak.

I live alone so I always have a refuge here, but right now when I really want to relax, I just go over my girlfriends house and jsut chill on the couch with her and usually end up just rubbing her feet, and talk for hours.

When I am on the computer and want to relax I just tune in "The Gospel Station" online and listen to good ole southern Gospel music. http://www.thegospelstation.com/dyn/showpage.php?id=13 great stuff!!!

If I'm completely stressed out, then I will often just go to sleep. If I'm not that far yet I will go pray and read the bible and then sleep. And the third stage is frustration, and I try to go run when I feel that way....
