• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Caedmon's Call is great in both sound and songwriting. I do think that sometimes they've sold themselves out to CCM, but especially with their latest release, they've hit their definitive stride that made them so cool and legitimate in the first place.

Plus, they have excellent theological convictions.

Do you think so? Aw... sold themselves out? bummer. I always think they're so neat and have such a different sound... I love all of their music that I have... An' I only have "The Close of Autumn" (at least I think that is what the name of that album is) and their latest album... which is REALLY cool! ;)

Sold out? If you listen to Caedmon's latest album (Share the Well), there's no way that's coming anytime soon. I'm so excited to see them in concert in a few weeks. Everytime I here the promotion on the radio for it tears stream down my face. Everything this cd is about, and all they put into it is incredible. (I believe God is calling me into the world, so to hear them singing with music from other countries, and other languages is awesome)

I highly recommend listening to Share the Well. Incredible lyrics content and such a passion involved in the whole thing.

I started listening to them in 1997 while I was in college. I haven't heard the latest release, but in general, I prefer their earlier music. I've always really liked Derek Webb so when he left, I was bummed. But about that time, I started having a lack of money for new CDs, so I haven't heard anything recent.

"Thankful" is probably my favorite song, followed closely by "My Calm//Your Storm" and "All I Know". Tho "The Rich Song" is pretty cool!

I love Caedmon's Call! They're my second favorite band (Newsboys being my favorite). I don't have any of their CDs, but I love the way they sound because it isn't like a normal sound (MercyMe and Casting Crowns are normal, just not very original, I love both bands, but the voice isn't as good as Caedmon's Call or Newsboys). I like Hands of the Potter, and I'm constanly hearing the END of one of their songs on the radio as I'm getting in the car, which is annoying!

Heh, no one replied to this thread after me. Now they're my favorite band, I've got Share The Well and Back Home, and love both! I do have a question, did Derek Webb sing "The Emptiest Day"? That's probably my second favorite song on the Back Home CD (Next to The Kingdom because I love the beat because it sounds Egyptian, and I thought that was neat), and I listened to the Share The Well CD completely through today (Just opened it) and I didn't hear his voice on this one. Anyhoo, I can't stop listening to Sarala! And Dalit Hymn is really good, too.
