Regular does not have to be dumb, something America fails to appreciate.

President Bush is not dumb. Neither is Senator Kerry. But I'll tell ya that if I had to choose one of them to be my next door neighbor I would choose George W. Bush hands down.

He's lousy when it comes to facts and policy - he just comes off like an 11 year-old squirming through a Latin lesson or something. When he talks about emotion and stuff, though, he's great. When he was recounting talking with a war widow, for example, he romped. He totally slayed with that answer.

Some would call it emotional and from the heart...others would call it using another's tragedy (especially those who already consider him responsible for said tragedy) to further his own agenda. I think the 'emotional' bit could go either way for him. I think he might be relying on it a bit to much as his ace in the hole.

It doesn't work, it doesn't make me agree with them, it doesn't make me any more convinced to side with them. It makes me think they haven't any substance to offer to get my vote and that turns me off of a politician. At least give some sort of answer to make me think that you've thought about that question before even if you haven't.

And to be perfectly honest, having met the president several times does have a lot to do with why I won't vote for him. So its not entirely fair...But I wouldn't want either one for my neighbor

I agree. All in all, I think the majority of America sees it for what it is. I hope so anyway.

Kerry made two HUGE Gaffes that are going to be pounded home in the next weeks. Two Huge Gaffes that are going to bury him. Two Huge Gaffes that the MSM is trying their best to cover up.

1. He actually said that he would give IRAN NUCLEAR FUEL.

With respect to Iran, the British, French, and Germans were the ones who initiated an effort without the United States, regrettably, to begin to try to move to curb the nuclear possibilities in Iran. I believe we could have done better. I think the United States should have offered the opportunity to provide the nuclear fuel, test them, see whether or not they were actually looking for it for peaceful purposes.

Yeah, That worked real well with North Korea. Clinton offered Nuclear Fuel to North Korea on the condition that they would use it for peaceful purposes. North Korea accepted, then Clinton gave NK Nuclear Fuel. You know what they did? They turned it into Nuclear Weapons. This is exactly what Kerry wants to do with IRAN.

Watch for this to come back to bite Kerry in the next few weeks. I can't believe he made such a stupid move.

2. He said "I've never waivered in my life."

Both statements were so incredibly stupid I couldn't believe Kerry actually said them.

Finally in addition to the two incredibly stupid statements above, he hurt his standing with his hard core base tonight by saying he would not pull out of Iraq.

Kerry is a polished speaker, Bush never has been, but those Gaffes by Kerry are going to bury him.

So I guess the big question is, given just this debate on such an important matter, has anyone been swayed one way or another?

But that is immaterial as they are going to vote for him anyway just like your average Southern Baptist is going to vote Bush no matter what. They'll vote out of hatred for Bush. If there is one thing that really characterises this election is the real hatred for one of the candidates (Bush) which is something we haven't seen for a long time in a presidential election.

History shows that Hatred for a Candidate does not cause his opponent to win. The Opponent has to give people a Reason to vote FOR them, rather than simply against their opponent.

History is clear on this, and it will be clear on November 2nd.

i'm leaning more towards actually voting for kerry instead of third party if that answers your question.

as for him hurting his base by saying he wouldn't pull out of iraq- i think everyone knows we cant just pull out of iraq. i am as opposed to this war as many are- but we are there and cant just leave them. we've made that mistake othertimes. you cant destroy a nation and leave it that way. i dont think that was gonna hurt him that much. he's made that point obvious before so any of his base already knew that anyway.

someone on another forum pointed out a comment made by john stewart...kerry's a senator, all the do is debate. bush has only held executive positions. kerrys gunna look more poised in these debates cause he has more practice.
