  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Won't anybody make his science fiction or other narrative books into flims.

There's so much undifferentiated fantasy stuff out there.

Much of which seems to worship evil.

With special effects, some upgrading and a sensitive touch you could do some moving stuff with Perelandra and Out of the Silent Planet.

And That Hideous Strength could be really scary.

Not to strain your conscience, but CS Lewis was a Christian writer and the Chronicles of Narnia were specifically made with Christian themes. One has to look behind - winnow out - the imagery and look at the underlying meaning to see that.

For instance, in Prince Caspian, the animals were wild -- because everyone had treated them like wild animals who could not speak or listen for so long... they actually became that.

I see huge parallels with that in the world.

The easier answer is that the Narnia Chronicles are simply the best known works of Lewis. Like when Agatha Christie novels were being made into movies, only certain ones were made, based on popularity and ease of transition. Murder on the Orient Express, Cards on the Table, Thirteen for Dinner, and the like. Given enough time and, perhaps, generations, we may still yet see a good movie about Screwtape Letters or the like.

Oh, and to Nobody1, I find it odd how often people slay a work of art by straight away peeling off the paint only to stare and admire the canvas. Such a waste...
