C.S. Lewis: World-renowned author, philosopher, theologian. Christian apologist. Mere mention of his name fills our minds with images of faith-based allegory, of lions, witches, and wardrobes, of rational defenses of the Christian faith. But political commentator and staunch opponent of progressive ideals? That’s not what we think of when we think of C.S. Lewis.

C.S. Lewis Sounded The Alarm On The Dangers Of Progressivism

This is pretty pertinent given the Covid crisis.

Somewhere there is a difference between science as a gift from God to examine and enjoy the awsome nature of His universe...

...and the idolisation of politicised 'science' commercially driven and offered as a saviour for all human ills.

Taking a vaccine would most certainly have been the NICE thing to do. Today, we're actually seeing what happens to those who don't play NICE-ly.

Anyone who has read the Narnia Chronicles would know that is exactly what one would expect of C.S. Lewis. In The Silver Chair there is quite a critique of "modern" education where the headmaster of Jill's school ("Experiment House") coddles bullies and discourages bibles. Experiment House is mentioned 13 times in the book, always in a derogatory light for their progressivism.

In Prince Caspian, Eustace is introduced as a very "modern" boy who calls his parents by the first names and it other ways is the embodiment of 20th century British progressivism. Needless to say, Eustace is shown needing a lot of character growth before he can be admired.

These are just the first two examples that came to mind. I'm sure there are others. Read the books. You will see. It is no surprise that he opposes progressivism - at least what passed as British progressivism in the middle of the 20th century.
