I'm getting kicked off this board by the moderators for posting a funny, albeit inappropriate post. This will probably be erased but I understand the mods and they have to do what they have to do. Thank you for your friendliness.

Did someone even complain? Mods...what about a warning or something? Life is a valuable member here. We are grown ups ... in fact OLDer grown ups here.

This sounds like the mods overreacted. The average age of the regulars here is probably around 50. I think we are beyond needing to be sheltered from a PG-13 rated joke. Good grief.

I seem to get a new infraction on a weekly basis here. Part of the problem is that there are so many different rules for each sub-forum.

I hope the OP is forgiven. God wants us to counsel and help each other.

I fear I wont last long here then, my humor is as warped as it comes. Hopefully they show some grace ; )

Well, my experience is that most people do show grace, Dice, but there are a few that don't. So what I do is not put to much stock in those to are legalistic and I jump right into the love pool when someone is spraying love around. So you'll get a lot of love and grace from me. Merry Christmas.

The safest bet is to not count on people showing grace - assume you will be on your own and try to anticipate the obstacles that people will throw your way. We are supposed to show grace to people but the world will not always respond to it in a favorable way - life is war.

I remember a club I used to be a member of. I liked it okay even though I tend to keep to myself and am not much of a joiner. One day the old leadership was voted out and replaced with new leaders, who professed to be efficiency experts. Their idea of efficiency was to make more and more rules about everything. I actually started to hate the place and was glad to let my membership expire. It had become all about rules and punishment and doing your "duty" and about how to exclude people rather than attract people. I understand they eventually voted out the efficiency experts - membership is half of what it was and they are trying to be more sane about things and essentially rebuild the club. But the place has too many negative associations for me to ever want to have anything to do with it again.

I regret to hear of the consequence ; Im sure with the Mod's all holding to the same common Forum rules for us all along with their commitment to Christian Standards...that they didn't make a rash decision . There are times when we all have crossed the line of morals and ethics and established civil rules...so id try to learn from the experience .

I'm not sure she's actually kicked off. I had them edit out one of my posts once, and I'm still here. they send a pm and told me what I did wrong. I understood. And that was the end of it. I'm still here and have been for months. I think it's a misunderstanding.

Well, I think I know what the post was because I thought of quoting it in some reply, making a silly joke. Then I thought better of it and didn't reply. Later I noticed Life's comment seems to be gone - which is okay I guess but I didn't think it was anything that offensive. But to ban someone over some silly remark is too much, if that is what happened. Stuff like that makes me angry.

I've been edited here. I learn quickly, because the edit was about what it was about I will NEVER feel at ease about sharing certain things here again.

Funny thing about that: In every 12-step program in existence we are told to be:

1. Honest with your self.

2. Honest with God. And;

3. Honest with at least one other human being.

The first two are easy enough, as it happens. Or should be, if you consider what you're up against. If you can't be honest with yourself, then you're dead in the water before you even get started. Better be honest with God, He already knows all about it anyway and He's trying to get you to confess so your healing can begin-- really, God's first choice is confession and redemption, and that can't happen unless you're honest with God.

That third thing is the real bug-bear. Especially within Christian circles. We have to spend so much time wearing a mask because we don't dare to reveal what's real to our fellow Christians--- they can't stand who we really are! Truth, they're the same or worse, but don't you DARE shake the carefully crafted mask, after all they face the same problem: They can't dare to be real or you won't like them/will think they're not real Christians/ will see that they're flawed/whatever spooks they're afraid you'll find in their closets.

So-- I and others have been edited, Life2Christ may or may not have been banned, and it may be that before this is over and done some of the rest of us may fall because we actually dared to express an unapproved thought.

Side note: I have been notified that another community to which I have belonged will be no more come March 1. Some of us from that community have been making efforts to preserve what we had, but whether that works remains to be seen. This is not a banning, it's the wholesale elimination of the community because the outfit running the show doesn't want to keep it going anymore. Interesting note: I am now a moderator on one of the new forums that sprang from the attempt to save what we can of the community elsewhere. Not that this means much because the system is brand new and there's not much chance to exercise moderator powers yet.

I wonder if this post will create some trouble??? Hmmmm.

There's a time and a place for inappropriate. Lately that's why I'm not around here much, because I'm all too often inappropriate anymore.

But in our churchianity often we are supposed to put on a happy mask and sanctify ourselves by being positive, appropriate, and "nice."
