  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

...but I don't get it?

The church is the body of Christ, so if I'm in the body as a believer, aren't I always part of the church? In another sense, if the church is the gathering of believers in the name of God Most Holy, wouldn't this forum be technically a church (a big and most wonderful one at that)?

Are we not organized in God's name to worship and support to each other?

I agree.

The Church of Christ is not confined to a box of wood and stone. It's where His sheep gather in fellowship and praise.

I believe we could all gather to a pond in the middle of the woods, and that could be considered a church.

Also thanks for the PM VerdantTruth, I appreciate it!

God Bless

Anytime, anytime. =D

The wonders of technology. I'm just suprised that so many different sects and viewpoints can gather in one place without ripping each other's heads off (which... I don't really understand anyhow, we all cheat from the same instruction manual o_O).
Anyhow, almost midnight. I shall retire.

Go with God!

The church is the body of Christ,

I know that I'm probably going to be thought of as being pedantic, but this is how I see it. THe body of Chris is made up of believers and when 2 or more of them are gathered in His name, then that is 'church.' Just my feelings on that one. But yes, you are right, this forum could very easily be considered as doing the church thing ;0

Church is about community and interdepence. Therefore where 2 or 3 are gathered is just a meeting, rather than Church, per se.

Now the question I always like to live is in what way can we church it with the world? After all we are told to be in the world, and we know that God is in the World...

Also, persoanlly, I would say that the Church is losing God more and more, while the World is finding God more and more. So, where is God more evident?

Indeed.

Would that be the same as a distinction between the Boody of Christ (Church, global) and the church - local expressions?

Question: if you saw Jesus leaving the church buildings and go out into the world, would you follow?
And does this imply that your priorities are 1. The Worldand 2.The Body of Christ.

If another believer is present or not , I still say that you are the Church . He is always there - you are never alone .

I disagree on this basis, the scriptures state "Where 2 or more are gathered in my name...." And the last time I looked Christ was the one making that statement.

Yes, he is where 2 or more are gathered to help guide the hearts of the congregation, but will you also deny the fact that we walk with Jesus, and he with us as well? I mean, if you were the only person on a small island, would you be without your Messiah?

Note : Rant ahead . It is not personal but directed at this continually misquoted passage and the false doctrine obtained through it . I do like AJKMan . :)

Edited : I have decide to erase that rant and simply say that the Scriptures do not state that . It is a misquote and its usage clearly shows how false that doctrine is .
