I'll start by admitting that I'm not extremely knowlegeable on the Global Warming issue. Please, explain to me why BushCo refuses to acknowledge it as a serious problem. Seven other modern and capable nations are convinced it's a problem yet BushCo insists on downplaying it. Why?

The Bush Administration was very eager to "Liberate the Iraqi People" yet seem reluctant to help make the world a better place for everyone. How strange.

Tell me what I'm missing. Fill me in.

The Bush administration, as with all US administrations and most Western democracies to lesser extents, serves the interests of an elite group of people in its country. The illegal invasion of Iraq, sold to US citizens first as a mission to disarm Saddam of WMD and then to "liberate" Iraq, continues to serve those elite interests: arms industry, no-bid reconstruction, etc.

For the same reason, pollution is not to be a big issue for the Bush admin, because the interests it serves would be hindered by anti-global-warming legislation. Neither the Bush administration (a state) nor the interests (corporations) are moral agents, and they will only care about future generations of Americans and of human beings if they are forced to by the American people.

This is what I now believe with my current knowledge. Hopefully, some of the avid Bush supporters will shed light on some other options for me so that I can reach an unbiased conclusion.

I'm curious about the lack of Republican response on this issue. When you actually ask them to support their president and one of his issues, nothing is forthcoming.

There has got to be a valid reason why the Bush Administration refuses to acknowledge global warming as an urgent issue, right?

Tell me. I do want to know.

Ok, I have specifically asked Republicans to support their president's decision to make light of a potentially world devastating event so that I could understand more completely what is taking place. I have received no requested response. I am left to conclude what?

A) Bush is not the only one to see no urgent problem where seven modern nations do.

B) Issues like Media Bias, the Terri Schiavo event, Howard Dean as a candidate and the cost of the war in Iraq take precedence over a potentially catastrophic event that will affect our future generations.

C) They cannot offer a valid reason or sufficient defense for President Bush's decision, so therefore just overlook and ignore the thread.

I'm leaning towards C at this point. If a continued lack of response continues then I'll let the thread die with this post. I will confess disappointment in those staunch supporters of Bush that are always so eager to quash any dissension against him and that the posistion that I left open for the other side of the story remains unfilled.

It's easier to alter the reports than to deal with the truth.

I could guess this was due to laziness, but more realistically it's probably more due to the administration's worship of the All-Mighty Dollar.
