Bummer

For the first time ever ... I had to go to school today and pick up my child and bring him home for his BEHAVIOUR ... not because he was sick and throwing up or running a fever ... because he had a temper tantrum and would not calm down.

He's my five year old - he's in Kindergarten.

I took him to the doctor - just in case there was something physically wrong with him - which there wasn't.

Our doctor did however recommended Omega-3 oil supplements.

I knew this child was going to be different from his older siblings from the get-go (he's the youngest of five).

Oh my! That IS a bummer That's hard when you see your kid doing something you always vowed he would NEVER get away with.

my 12 year old brother has them alot!he gets in these little "hissey fits"well not little big fits!

Lily, do u know what upset him so much? Maybe something triggered his actions? Sometimes kids get upset and are difficult to calm down because they are just too upset. Only a mom's hug can calm them.

nope, still don't know what triggered it ... he has always been easily frustrated when he can't do something "right" - like when he's building with his blocks/tinker toys/LEGOS and can't get things to connect the way he wants them he gets really upset ...

I guess the honeymoon is over (now they are settling down to serious stuff in Kindergarten) and he's having to learn to deal with it ...

We are working on behavior modifications ... he brought home a "good" note from the teacher today

That's good, Lily (about the note). My son gets really mad when he can't do things too. Some days are worse than others. Mondays and days when he has spent too much time with his older cousin. Too much stimulation, I think.
