Having clarified the difference I can define what we call the Gospel.
The Gospel is the account of the Death Burial and Resurrection of the Messiah Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible. His death was the necessary atonement for believers to have there sins cancelled out, so we would not have to experience judgment. and rather instead we could have eternal life.
This is best echoed in the well known verse John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son. That whosover believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
The strict definition is defined by paul in the book of 1 corintians chapter 15 verse 1-4 and I quote the apostle paul
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
