Ok, Gott Servant . . . I am Bill . . . good to see you, God bless you
Yes, we children of God need to be still and wait on the LORD. But if I understand correctly, the Buddhist way of being still is not in order to pay attention to God and submit to Him and seek Him to rule us in His peace as all of us Jesus people are called to do >
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
And we in Jesus need to depend on how our Father makes us still and submissive; we need to not try to make this a do-it-ourselves effort to make ourselves humble and obedient.
"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God," (2 Corinthians 3:5)
So, we of our own selves are not sufficient to make ourselves obey God, including by being still and resting in Him (Psalm 37:7) But in God's grace living in us we have all we need of God through Jesus. "We need how God's grace . . . the effect, action of God's own love . . . makes us submissive and pleasing to Him in
"the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (in 1 Peter 3:4) Our own human will's self effort can not make us like this!!
However . . . to my knowledge . . . Buddhism in general is more about how an individual can get oneself to be still and peaceful and rested. But the resulting quality for this is not as good and beneficial as the beauty and quality of our rest and refreshing which we have in God's love (Romans 5:5) through Jesus. And to my knowledge Buddhists in general do not first acknowledge and trust and depend on Jesus as God's way to bring them to peace and rest and refreshing, with correction to make them personally submissive to our Father in His peace ruling them in their hearts.
"Of course", some number of Jesus naming people are not about this, too.
But I find the Bible is clear about who is the One who changes us and has us truly doing His will >
"for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)
So, I see that even our willing, which is truly of God, is worked in us, God working us to will what He desires . . . God knowing what He desires, and we do not know since we are not God to know what at each moment He wants to share with us. So we depend on Him and not at all on ourselves . . . as much as we have grown in this and matured in this
But, like I offer, Buddhism is not about seeking our Father of Jesus Christ for how He corrects us (Hebrews 12:4-10), and for how He alone can make us still and submissive to Him in His perfect peace. They do not name Jesus as their way to perfect spiritual and emotional rest; and only Jesus can give us true rest > Matthew 11:28-30.
