Love is the only thing that has ever brought me anywhere near reconsidering Christianity. You're deluding yourself more than you are without the hate preaching if you really think that you do anything but make Christianity look stupid. That's why people make Poe accounts.Raven, when the people will no longer hear Love, then Wrath is all they get.
If you agree with ShieldOfFaith, as you have in this thread, then you're not spreading the Gospel; you're spreading the Old Testament. The Gospel is that God is Love and He wants to have a relationship with us, in this life AS WELL AS the next.
Uh, dude? I'm not the one who has a problem with a hardened heart; I'm the one who's interested here in teaching the Good News - ie: that God is loving and forgiving.
Quite frankly, it's your message that is counter-Scriptural:
From Psalm 103:
8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
I have nothing against God's Word; I hold quite a bit against those who would seek to pervert God's Word to fit their narrow social agenda.
I try to be; I leave it to God to decide whether or not I'm an adequate follower of Him.
M, all the education in the world will not save you from the lake of fire. I hope you understand this.Love is the only thing that has ever brought me anywhere near reconsidering Christianity. In the day of Jonathan Edwards, people were less educated and would fall for propaganda like yours. Not so much in today's society.
SoF must sit in front of his computer chuckling all day long y'know. I would say it's a near certainty that he's not a christian at all and he gets a kick out of using christianity itself to mock other christians. I mean, nobody could possibly be serious about leading other people to a conversion and go about it the way he does. His method is all but guaranteed to to result in more deconversions than conversions lol.
There comes a time in every life, where the old rules seem constricting beyond measure, where the old expectations gnaw on the spirit, where the old beliefs fail to satisfy, where men feel the need to look within themselves and question the validity of everything he has learned. It is at this time, he realizes that all his beliefs may been founded upon unstable ground -- ground that gives under the slightest pressure and yields under the slightest scrunity. And this man has two options. Either he may continue upon the road that he taken in life -- a road full of obvious disinformation, sinister lies, and inadequet half truths, or he may decide that he knows nothing, and begin again at the beginning of his own belief -- dismanteling everything -- leaving no thought unturned -- leaving no belief unexamined, unweighed, or unjudged.
Some men have been at such a time. And some have discarded the tired lies of mass religion. Some have weighed the claims of fire and brimstne and found them lacking. Others have stubbornly refused to let go of what ought to be let go. And yet others have refused to examine, at all, the belief that cauterized humanity from its origin: from the wilderness and nature. From heart. From the mind. And yet others have decided: the dicates of so the called "spirit" will, since the dawn of church and ignorance, determine the course of all men.
To the precious few who have rejected such non-sense and bigotry, I salute you. To yet the others who have not, well. Too bad. Your religion will meet its end.
I do wish you'd dial back the gloating about people burning in hell, though. It's mean. :/

You can call me all the names under the sun. What good will that do you? Really?
So you call me stupid. Wow. Does that change anything? Does it change the fact that Jesus went to a cross and hung there to take sin upon Himself, so He can wash us clean from ours? Does it change anything in God's Word? NO!
It does not do anything that will help you escape the fires of hell, and eventually the lake of fire. So what good does it do???
Try something constructive. Say like reading the Word of God, and learning what Jesus did for us.![]()

Star, you might want to check this out:
- Natural men's prudence and care to preserve their own lives, or the care of others to preserve them, do not secure them a moment. To this, divine providence and universal experience do also bear testimony. There is this clear evidence that men's own wisdom is no security to them from death; that if it were otherwise we should see some difference between the wise and politic men of the world, and others, with regard to their liableness to early and unexpected death: but how is it in fact? Eccles. 2:16. "How dieth the wise man? even as the fool."
- All wicked men's pains and contrivance which they use to escape hell, while they continue to reject Christ, and so remain wicked men, do not secure them from hell one moment. Almost every natural man that hears of hell, flatters himself that he shall escape it; he depends upon himself for his own security; he flatters himself in what he has done, in what he is now doing, or what he intends to do. Every one lays out matters in his own mind how he shall avoid damnation, and flatters himself that he contrives well for himself, and that his schemes will not fail. They hear indeed that there are but few saved, and that the greater part of men that have died heretofore are gone to hell; but each one imagines that he lays out matters better for his own escape than others have done. He does not intend to come to that place of torment; he says within himself, that he intends to take effectual care, and to order matters so for himself as not to fail.
But the foolish children of men miserably delude themselves in their own schemes, and in confidence in their own strength and wisdom; they trust to nothing but a shadow. The greater part of those who heretofore have lived under the same means of grace, and are now dead, are undoubtedly gone to hell; and it was not because they were not as wise as those who are now alive: it was not because they did not lay out matters as well for themselves to secure their own escape. If we could speak with them, and inquire of them, one by one, whether they expected, when alive, and when they used to hear about hell, ever to be the subjects of misery: we doubtless, should hear one and another reply, "No, I never intended to come here: I had laid out matters otherwise in my mind; I thought I should contrive well for myself -- I thought my scheme good. I intended to take effectual care; but it came upon me unexpected; I did not look for it at that time, and in that manner; it came as a thief -- Death outwitted me: God's wrath was too quick for me. Oh, my cursed foolishness! I was flattering myself, and pleasing myself with vain dreams of what I would do hereafter; and when I was saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction came upon me." Yep, that is where all heathen stumble. They always believe that there is something THEY can do to make themselves worthy of salvation.I find it quite amusing. I can hardly believe that anybody can take what he says and thinks seriously. God loves you, but if you don't listen to him you're going to burn in Hell. Or better yet, being saved by faith alone. You can murder, rape, and steal all you want, as long as you ask for forgiveness before you die. What a crock of fecal matter. And the caps lock of doom just cracks me up, it's as funny as when people type "THE FLOOD!"
And as I have said in the past, he's doing a better job of destroying Christianity than any atheist could do.

So, when anyone else reads this title, do they imagine it being said in a voice like "Are you ready to RUMBLE?!"
When I see the title of this thread I can't help but think..."Ladies and gentlemen, LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!"
They do it because it is their own souls they care about, not anybody else's. They think by condemning the rest of the world, their god will thrown them a bone and show some mercy to them and only them. So they spew their patronizing filth and hide behind a banner of righteousness, because, in the end, it's really all about them. They don't give a damn about their fellow human being, which is what Jesus was all about.

Jesus Christ did all the work. Only He could do it. So to answer you, YES, it is by Grace through Faith that we are saved.
