Shield, I have read the Bible. I know what the Old Testament says. And it freaks me out. God ordering babies to be cut from their mothers' wombs? Some guy named Lot offering his daughters, his own flesh and blood, up for gang rape? And God not kicking his rear end up and down that street he lived on for even letting it cross his mind? I mean, come on. If God's going to destroy a town for homosexual rape you'd think he'd have tossed Lot right in there for advocating heterosexual rape.

I find it quite amusing. I can hardly believe that anybody can take what he says and thinks seriously. God loves you, but if you don't listen to him you're going to burn in Hell. Yep, that is where all heathen stumble. They always believe that there is something THEY can do to make themselves worthy of salvation.

Jesus Christ did all the work. Only He could do it. So to answer you, YES, it is by Grace through Faith that we are saved.

1. I have a friend who remembers death. He says it was peaceful.
2. Everyone dies. It's just a matter of when and where. For some odd reason, I keep dying in my dreams and the terror is transitory. Try fighting off death with a wand that doesn't work -- doesn't end too well.
3. I don't avoid damnation, SoF. I believe, very simply, there is no final damnation. It was a long process for me to come to that conclusion. Energy must flow. There can be no permanence in any state. If there energy stopped flowing in one place, there would be drastic in balance in the universe.
4. An omnipotent omniscient allknowing god, the great white light of the universe, transcends the figures and lies depicted in your bible. The creator itself is on another level entirely -- a level transcends the temper tantrums of the OT and the inconsistencies of the entire document. You'll know the essence of the creator when you see it and feel it and know in your very heart of hearts and soul of souls that: THIS is the creator and the bible depicts nothing but a pale imitation designed to instill FEAR into mankind. I am not afraid of your "god", SoF, because your "god" is a mistranslated, misrepresented, and unpure in essence. If you want to know abou the creator, go inward and leave the bible behind.
