  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It's not getting here until January.. my daughter saw it and LOVED it.. but getting a decent review out of her is impossible

"Mom just take my word for it I wouldn't tell you it was good if it bit.. you know how picky I am"

Truthfully she very rarely says she loves any movie and rarely recommends ANY.

It is currently in limited release in a couple cities I know all the reviews I've seen have been awfully good... the only people I see giving it bad reviews are talking specifically about the homosexuality.. not about the acting, directing, photography etc...

As far as I know, it has a limited release here in the US, which apparently is tomorrow...

And as for if it's any good, I wouldn't know since I absolutely refuse to see it, but it did get a ton of Golden Globe nominations...

I'm with you here,I absolutely refuse to watch this!

I cant wait to see it, I dont think the homosexuality is the focus of the film.

It's a homosexual love story and homosexuality IS the focus. I have better things to do with my time than watch a film in which the producers try to make homosexual sex acceptable. After more than a quarter of a century in the movie theatre business I am grieved at the downhill slide the industry has taken.

Amen, absolutely! I just heard a former homosexual, delivered by the grace of God on the Christian talk show "Point Of View" say this movie is just another attempt to make homosexuality seem "normal"! It shouldn't be too difficult for Christians to see if it is sympathetic to the homosexual lifestyle that alone should be reason enough to BOYCOT this movie!

And I'm also extremely upset that good movies like Narnia and King Kong got few to zero Golden Globe nominations because Brokeback Mountain got nominated for pretty much everything... sick...

Well, when so many including those who "profess" to be Christians go and lay their $ down to see this perversion glorified, that is to be expected. It is so easy for satan anymore.:( Please Come Lord Jesus, before it gets any worse.

Umm... maybe the movie's actually good? Just because you don't agree with the movie's message or "agenda," doesn't mean the movie couldn't possibly be well done.
You might not want to spend money supporting the movie, but at least read a review before jumping all over a movie you know nothing about except that it "glorifies" homosexuality.

How many people here who absolutely refuse to see this movie would watch romantic comedies/dramas that have infidelities and premarital relations in them? For example, would you watch Ang Lee's other celebrated movie, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," which glorifies disobeying your parents and chasing your true love, and in which the main female protagonist has a premarital affair that results in said disobedience?

Very good Point! I will not watch movies like that either, not even the old B/W classics if they have affairs and such.:(

Well I might suggest you do a little research about how many actors in those old westerns were gay but that might get you all insulted about gay people being near John and Clint and what not so I'll leave you to your fantasies about the "manly" west. :)

Plus it's a movie thread not a debate thread so I'll stick to the details of this particular movie.. which is it's not set in the old west.. it's not a shoot em up cowboys and Indians movie..
