I work nights, and last night I was scheduled and, what with TAR concluding last week, I was half tempted to record it, but I realized it might take 15 seconds of my day to set my VCR that I wasn't ready to spend.

Did anyone actually watch/tape/stomach this, what I doubt must have been an agonizing viewing experience?

I did not watch it... but I heard it was mostly the two of them walking around in what appeared to be an intoxicated stupor and at the end her telling the world how many times she had sex and oral sex in that particular day. Just doesn't sound like quality television to me.

After reading the Desperate Housewives thread and seeing so many ppl attacked for watching it... I wanted to come in and say that is just a personal choice for me and I am not condeming anyone for watching her show... it's none of my business what anyone watches except my kids (if I had any)... just didn't want anyone to feel judged by what I said.

Its just that when people watch this stuff it gives the producers the idea that this **** is good. And then the airwaves become full of this stuff and i cant find anything good to watch. Thats the problem with other people watching horrible shows. And hey if you knew you were going to be flamed for it and you still let everyone know... then dont complain.

I hope the OP didn't come across as disparagement of those who view it. I think Sheer Dallas is excruciating to watch, but I do, because I'm a Dallas resident and I want to check for local references. Oh, and I love Desperate Housewives, so I'll need to lurk there and see if any of my CF friends are being critical.

The closest analogy I can draw is "hate the sin, not the sinner." I'm reminded of a Fox reality show called Forever Eden a year or two ago. I posted to another forum how much I loathed it, and ranted about how awful it was. A friend of mine on that board replied she actually enjoyed it, and that revelation didn't change my opinion of her one iota. Whether we personally consider our indulgences thusly, we all have them none the less.

When Nick and Jessica's Newlyweds show was on I commented about how often they were shown drinking. Normally it was Miller Lite beer, so I'm sure it was part of a product placement deal, but still... had this whole image she'd cultivated and they showed her loudly sharing beer belches like a frat boy.

Just an aside, but I found a few tabloid magazines at work, and it appears Avril Lavigne (who didn't cultivate a pure image) is really living up to her party/sk8tr image by swigging Vodka and getting bombed. And she's not even 21. Jessica or Britney imbibing is their choice since they're legal, but I think as someone who isn't of age, Avril needs to keep her alcohol binges at home for the next few months.

In Canada the legal drinking age is 19 years old and 18 in some provinces. I don't think anything of it when I see pictures of Avril Lavigne drinking.

It's also been said that she does this on her time off and she doesn't party like this while she's on tour.

So you can included her in the Britney and Jessica category. She is of age here in Canada!!!

I wasn't saying she isn't allowed to drink... I was only relaying what I had heard about it... I was far more disgusted at her telling the world about the # of times she had sex and that he had gotten oral sex that day (of course, not her words)... I realize she's an adult and they are married... I just couldn't believe that Fox actually let that part air KNOWING that the viewing base would contain very young girls who idolize Britney... however, is this the fault of Fox or the fault of parents for not monitoring the television intake of their children?

At any rate... to make it clear... I was not condeming anyone for their tv viewing choice... I certainly watch television that ppl would find disgusting (obviously, I am a DH fan) and I did not want it to seem that I was passing judgement on anyone.
