I listen to a good bit of it. What are yalls favorite bands?

The Libertines
Muse
Supper Furry Animals
Oasis
Spiritualized
Pulp

There are quite a few more that I like, but those are probably my favorites.

I like Radiohead, Coldplay, and Travis quite a bit. Not much of a fan of the rest, though.

Yes what exactly is Brit rock? If it's Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene etc then pffft! Send them in shackles to Australia!

If it's Radiohead, Franz Ferdinand, British Sea Power, Mogwai, Aereogramme etc then Rule Brittania!!

Brits, quite simply, make the best music out there, especially nowadays (because of the current music scene), even though I don't consider it a seperate genre, really.

Radiohead, Oasis, some Coldplay, some Verve.

Older stuff, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, Blind Faith, the Rolling Stones, Zeppelin, Cream. Need I go on?

Nadroj- I had heard lots of good things about Travis, and they definitely sounded like a band I would like from what I've heard of their style, but I listened to some of their stuff, and I was kind of disappointed.

Manic Street Preachers , a bit of Radiohead and U 2 , that is about it at present , Oasis wrote some good songs but overplay made them seem tired.


I think The Darkness are quite good , but for me it's The Manics all the way.

Nadroj- I had heard lots of good things about Travis, and they definitely sounded like a band I would like from what I've heard of their style, but I listened to some of their stuff, and I was kind of disappointed.

Yeah, I don't really think they're wonderful musicians or anything, but I just like their songs. The guy's voice is nice, and the melodies are usually good. I can see why most people wouldn't be impressed with them, but I like them.

most definitely radiohead and mogwai as was mentioned. also i like the doves, although they haven't made a whole lot. rjd2 is good in the hip/hop genre as well. oh, and my bloody valentine also. i like elizabeth fraser's voice from the cocteau twins. i'm sure there are loads others.

No ... well not me anyways ........... because I have been in England most of my life , my mother is English , Father was Manx and I have both Irish and Scottish anscestry ..... I also have a good old Scottish surname.

I was born in Wales so was my brother and sister , but my sister was the only one who learned the language.My Mother and Uncle and his family live in North wales.

Ok, I think I understand now.
I dig Mogwai, Spiritualized and a bit of Radiohead's stuff; as far as newer groups go I can't really think of any others offhand.
Some "ye olde Brit rock" I dig: Pink Floyd, early Soft Machine, GONG, Hillage, Deep Purple, Hawkwind, lots of prog-rock (Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, etc.) and on and on-- Most of the groups I like are British or have some British members, it seems...
